Ruqqaiya Moomin, a Cheerful Artist Expressing Herself Through Her Creativty and Different Art Forms

Ruqqaiya is a young artist who is reclaiming her feministic side after being a tomboy in school days. She says that being yourself is the best thing we can do for ourselves.

Ruqqaiya Moomin is a 22-year-old Painter and Henna Artist.

Ruqqaiya is from Udaipur. She says that everything which is related to Art is her field of interest. She provides Henna applying services at weddings. Ruqqaiya says that recently she covered the wedding of a cousin of the Prince of Udaipur and it was a great moment for her.

Ruqqaiya says that she is trying to be more active on her Instagram page, Ruqkiecookie, and to post more of her designs on it. He feels that exposure and being punctual are very important for an artist. She is trying to be progressive in her field and achieve more.

She says that she had been artistically inclined from her childhood. She took Fine Arts in her school. She says that many people feel that Arts as a subject is taken by people who are bad in studies but this is not the case. She loved her Fine Arts classes. She says that art is self-expressive and helps Ruqqaiya to express her feelings. She regrets that even now it is not considered a proper profession by many.

Ruqqaiya went to college in Pune. She is also into makeup art and won a competition regarding the same in her college fest.

She says that there are many role models in her life. She is inspired by the famous painter Vincent Van Gogh. She says that although he was in an asylum and mentally ill, he created masterpieces that are relatable even in today’s time. She also follows ‘Rich full by Design’ Sabrina who is a Henna artist and her creativity amazes Ruqqaiya. She says that her current role model is Karl Marx. She is flabbergasted by his theories of political philosophy. She also looks up to Mother Teresa and wants to learn empathy and compassion from her.

Ruqqaiya advises everyone to take their own time. She thinks that it is never too late to change your profession and do something new. She feels that people are afraid of what this society will think of them if they fail to follow their norms. She says that even if an engineer wants to change track and come into the arts, they should do so and not hesitate. She says that she also wanted to take a year off after her school got over. However, seeing her peers joining college, she also enrolled in one. However, she dropped out mid-way and came back. Ruqqaiya feels that if she would have taken that year off, she would have been in a much better place today.

Ruqqaiya says that we all should be the truest expression of ourselves. We should not change or try to adapt ourselves according to the needs of society but should be comfortable in the way we are.

If given a Time Machine, Ruqqaiya would like to go back to when she was sixteen years old. She says that the innocence and ignorance that we have as a child is relaxing and soothing. She says that Ignorance is Bliss and she would love to experience that bliss in her life once again.

Ruqqaiya shares that in her free time, she likes to read. Her passion for reading is unparalleled and she can read any genre. She also listens to Philosophical Podcasts and follows a channel ‘Philosophy Tube’ on YouTube.
