Rudra Pratap Singh is a former Indian cricketer and coach. He is from UP's Basti district.
Rudra says his parents were against his dream of becoming a cricketer. Sometimes he went to play cricket, hiding from his parents, and sometimes he skipped classes. Because of all his antics, he used to get scolded and sometimes beaten a lot by his parents. He was also suspended from his school because of his love for cricket. But he never gave up and kept working hard to fulfill his dreams.
Once he got selected for the under-16 district cricket championship, his coach made his parents understand his talent for cricket. His father agreed after seeing his son's enthusiasm for cricket.
Speaking about his achievements, Rudra says he has taken nine wickets in one match. He attended a camp with the Indian cricket team in 2015. He was also the captain of Uttar Pradesh’s team and also played IPL matches for the Delhi team, and his matches were telecast on TV channels.
In his spare time, Rudra enjoys listening to music. He also likes to play football and ride bikes.
When asked about his role models, Rudra says he considers legendary former cricketer Virendra Sahwag and the all time great Sri Lankan spinner Muralidharan as his role models.
Speaking about his mistakes, Rudra says he never tried to play and perform outside his district, otherwise he could have become a more famous cricketer. He also believes that losing patience in a short period of time and becoming distracted from his specialty was a mistake, which he regrets.
To reduce his stress, Rudra does prayers and follows his guru’s preachings. He is a religious man and follows spirituality in his life. It calms him.
Rudra suggests that the youth should persist in the field they are following. Follow the best coach to give direction to your practice, hard work, and dedication, says Rudra.
