Ruchika Bhandari is a faculty of English at MDS School, Udaipur.
Ruchika originally hails from Indore, MP, but she settled in Udaipur after her wedding. She did B.Com. and a Diploma in Fashion Designing. After her wedding, she did her B.Ed. in Udaipur.
Ruchika started her teaching career with Curious Kids School, Udaipur. Then she joined MDS school and has been teaching there for the past nine years.
She says that her childhood was spent well. She would play with her friends and create good memories. She misses her childhood days and friends and would want to relive her childhood if given a chance.
Talking about struggles in her life, she says that initially, her family had to face some financial problems but now things are all right at their end. She personally never faced any problems as such.
She shares that she always wanted to be in the teaching profession as she likes to solve and satiate the queries of children. And this is the reason she has not faced any problems on the professional front.
Discussing the Covid pandemic, she says that during the initial phase of the pandemic, she loved spending time with her family, cooking new dishes, etc. But after some time, she started facing some financial problems. She also took virtual classes for her students and initially it was tough for her to adapt to the new mode of teaching but with the proper training facilitated by the school, she learned the technical aspects of teaching in virtual classes soon.
Talking about her achievements in life, she says that she was invited as the Chief Guest twice by the school where her daughter studies because her daughter topped her classes. Besides, she says that she was also a good student academically and received prizes for her academic performance.
To aspiring teachers of English, she advises that they should be good at both the spoken and writing aspects of the language.
Her husband is her role model and her mother-in-law too. Both of them allowed her to work after her wedding and always supported her.
In her free time, she likes to sing songs.
Ruchika says that in the teaching profession though education is important, experience is more important as with experience only you learn the psychologies of students which helps in dealing with them in a better way.
Ruchika says she was not a born leader. She developed leadership skills as she taught students. Initially, she found it hard to tackle a class of forty students but today with her experience in the field, she can tackle as many students as she is assigned.
