Rovi found his passion in teaching and is always trying to simplify mathematical concepts for his students.

Born and brought up in Udaipur, Rovi Kothari has been in the teaching profession for sixteen years now. He is currently associated with Badala classes teaching Mathematics and Logical Reasoning to students of CA Foundation. He shares that the institution conducts doubt clearing sessions from time to time and prepares exam-oriented study material for students to excel.

Rovi has done his schooling from St Anthony’s School and completed his Bachelor of Technology from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in 2005. He shares his memories of the 10th standard when he appeared on the merit list and was covered by the media.

While he was pursuing his final year, he joined a coaching institute and later started his own venture and had to struggle for 3-4 years owing to his low income. Due to increasing competition, it became difficult for him to sustain his institution for long.

Discussing COVID, Rovi shares that with the advent of online classes, the challenge to record sessions and edit them also increased. However, on the other hand, he got ample time to spend with his family which he truly treasured.

As a message to aspiring teachers, Rovi shares that a teacher should be friendly, approachable and try to make students understand the concepts on their level while building a connection with them.

For Rovi, experience plays slightly a larger role than education since one can be educated but it takes years to gain valuable experience.  His role model and inspiration are his parents who could manage to balance household chores, education, job and finance together.

On leadership, Rovi shares that he could be a born leader, however, he has learnt better working in groups. He feels content in his present, however, if given an opportunity to fly back in a time machine, he would spend more time with his parents.

In his free time, Rovi likes to indulge in singing and playing sports like cricket, table tennis and ball pool. He considers teaching as his first love and singing as his second. His favourite singer is Sonu Nigam and his favourite song is ‘Sandese aate hai’ from the movie Border.

A quote by Abraham Lincoln keeps him motivated which goes like “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
