Rohit Joshi is an Auto Parts Dealer in Udaipur. Earlier he ran a Hero Motorcycles showroom and was also dealing in property.
Rohit was born in a village in Mavli tehsil near Udaipur but brought up in Udaipur where his family had shifted when he was very young. He studied till 10th in Saraswati Niketan and did his 12th from the Guru Gobind Singh School in Udaipur. At that time he quit studies as his heart was not in it and entered into business.
Despite being the son of a renowned politician, Rohit took up a job in an automobile parts shop in 2001. He worked there for one and a half years and learnt the basics of the trade. Then he moved on and started working at a big Hero Motorcycles dealer of Udaipur.
In 2004, when they were exploring locations for sub-dealerships in small towns, a senior company officer suggested he open up a showroom in his native town of Mavli. He went around the villages, prepared a project report and got selected for dealership beating sixteen other applicants purely on merit and without his father’s influence.
Things were going well when due to a dispute with his partner he had to separate himself from the business in 2009. He had to struggle a lot for a year. Then, he started working in the property trading sector and did it till 2013. But, it so happened that his ex-partner could not run the showroom and the company asked him to take over. He took over the business in 2014 and doubled its business within a year. He received three awards from the company and also won a Malaysia tour for his performance.
But, despite good performance, the losses accumulating since the time of his ex-partner compelled him to wind up the showroom in 2018. Since then he has been doing an auto-parts business in Udaipur.
Rohit felt embarrassed about his inadequate education and so, he completed BA and MA along with his profession.
Meanwhile, he came in contact with some friends who encouraged him to donate blood regularly. He had initial misgivings, but once he started donating, his hesitancy vanished. He joined an organisation called Raktdata Yuwa Vahini and took to full time promotion of Blood Donations. He and the members of his organisation regularly organise camps, spread awareness about Blood Donation and arrange blood for needy persons whenever they get a call. Rohit himself has donated blood 35 times.
During Covid, he also worked to arrange plasma donations. He thinks it is his achievement that he has been able to help people with blood and has saved many lives. He also works to carry accident victims in his car and get them admitted to a hospital.
Rohit requests people not to only make videos for social media whenever they see an accident but instead try to help the victims so that precious lives could be saved.
Rohit says he has always been inspired by his father to do good deeds for society.
Rohit’s success mantra is to work for your goals with full diligence. His message for everyone is to work for society selflessly.
