An environmental activist, Rodrigo is creating awareness among governments and people about their responsibilities to minimize environmental impact and live in harmony with nature.

Rodrigo Maximiliano Vargas Ubilla is a Chilean environmental activist and officer at the Mapuche Museum of Cañete in Chile.

Rodrigo is studying environmental engineering. He is aiming to improve and maintain the natural environment by reducing environmentally hazardous human activities. Furthermore, as part of reforestation efforts, he also has 30 baby trees to care for.

Rodrigo recalls that as a child, he enjoyed spending time with his computer and playing online games. But as he got older and started traveling, he became fascinated and enchanted by the diversity of nature.

Rodrigo remembers one of his favorite trips to the Chilean islands, where he experienced the beauty of nature for the first time and was inspired to dedicate his life to preserving it. He became an environmental activist to protect the environment and educate people about its value.

When asked what drives him, Rodrigo responds with a phrase that warns of a dark future if humans fail to maintain nature. This drives him to seek a solution and fight to promote nature preservation. He says that in order to conserve the environment, we must connect with one another, grow as people, learn new things, and take responsibility for our own future.

When asked about the mistakes he made in life, Rodrigo says that everyone makes mistakes, but it's necessary to grow from them. He says he also committed a lot of mistakes, such as failing to put enough effort throughout his early adolescent years to fulfill his responsibilities. But he learned from them and was determined to establish a better future for himself and others.

When asked what he predicts for the future of climate activists, Rodrigo says that activists are being chased, threatened, and sometimes even killed by companies and forced to sign agreements not to protest against their projects. However, he has faith in his president and the government, both of whom are working to save the environment and the climate activists.

In his spare time, Rodrigo enjoys playing the guitar, spending time with his pets, and recently he has learned pottery too. He also finds joy in caring for his plants.

Rodrigo advises young people to form a bond with nature and make a commitment to improving the planet's quality of life for future generations.
