A gully boy, Rocky, became a millionaire driven by his belief and hard work.

Rocky Kanoj is the Director at Barjockey Bartending Institute and Event in Mumbai.

Rocky's original name is Anil. He was born and brought up in Kurla, Mumbai. Since childhood, his dream was to travel by flight. Rocky did not have any idea about traveling, packing, and eating. He wanted to join a hotel management course after his 12th class but was unable to join due to his father's poor financial condition. In 2001, he came to Udaipur and joined as a trainee in the HR Group of Hotels where he learned Banqueting and Bartending.

Talking about his journey, Rocky says he had enough experience to start his bartending business, but he did not have money. He started doing events. He did all kinds of small jobs that added experience in his life to build his career.

Sharing his memories and challenges, Rocky says he faced many life-threatening situations. Rocky shares about a situation when he had to survive with some sugar and water for three days.

When asked about his achievements, Rocky says being a gully boy working at a 5-star hotel is his most significant achievement. And, owning an institute is also one of its greatest achievements for Rocky. His dream of traveling by flight is also fulfilled.

Rocky's role models are many. First, he considers his brother his role model who is a Commander in Air India. Rocky says that he has had role models at every stage in his life.

Sharing about his Covid experiences, Rocky says that he stayed at home and spent his time with his family. He learned many skills at home during the pandemic. He also organized his events online.

For youngsters, Rocky advises them to believe in themselves else they will not be able to achieve success.
