Robert experienced a career transition from a nine to five job to a venture of his own and feels happy about his liberty to operate from just anywhere.

Robert Stitt is the Founder of Stitt Marketing, a digital marketing agency and a content creation management company offering services for brand management and helping one create a celebrity out of oneself. Robert hails from Boston, Massachusetts and completed his Bachelor in History with a Minor in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. He is passionate about History and wishes to market international parks if given an opportunity.

Robert was initially engaged in a nine to five job before a discussion happened between him and his family members which sparked a debate on working for somebody v/s having something of your own, and this is when Stitt Marketing was born. He shares that the one thing he likes about being in a business is freedom and the lack of accountability to your boss. Robert feels happy about the fact that he can operate his business from anywhere and also gets time to be around his family and friends.

His biggest business failure was being too trustworthy of everyone around him which cost him a loss of over $2000 in the initial years of his business. The incident has been a lifelong learning lesson for him and he keeps cautioning people about it.

Robert defines success in many different ways which include financial independence, being stress-free, the ability to travel whenever one wants to and doing what one loves. He urges everyone not to always equate success with money but see how far one has come in life.

Robert shares that the pandemic has given rise to online businesses like fitness coaches and education which has become more like digital marketing. He says that these days one’s website serves as a physical address and if people do not find you, they would not know that you exist online. He adds by saying that the future in digital marketing is skyrocketing and has become the consumer’s number one choice with the potential of becoming a 400 billion dollar industry. With the advent of social media platforms, the number of influencers has also increased, he says. Being in entrepreneurship, Robert says that you never know when your next dollar is going to come as opposed to a nine to five job as a fixed source of income.

Robert’s role models are his parents who taught him to work hard in every phase of life. His parents have been his backbone for the past 30 years and he considers them as his best friends. Robert’s grandfather has always taught him to stay organised and this skill has helped him in every sphere of his life. He takes his inspiration from quotes by Bill Gates and also refers to different online leaders. Robert says that not everything is black and white and there are a lot of grey areas depending on the day and the mindset he is in which inspires him to go forward depending on what his inspirations are.

His recommendation to anyone starting his own business is to possess financial strength and have investments to utilize in difficult times like this pandemic. For aspiring entrepreneurs, he shares that one needs to have a thick skin while operating online because you never know what people behind the computer will tell you. He also emphasizes good communication skills along with being able to manage one’s social media presence and dealing with clients.

Robert has an adventurous side to him and in his free time, he likes to go skiing and indulge in other outdoor sports to keep himself level-headed. He believes that one should live life to the fullest and enjoy every bit of it.
