Ritika Batra is a Makeup Artist and runs her own salon named ‘Kushagra Makeup and Hair Studio’ in Udaipur.
Ritika hails from Udaipur. She did her schooling from St. Teresa Senior Secondary School, Udaipur and graduated from JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur.
Ritika says about her childhood memories that she enjoyed her school life a lot and also made some good friends. She was also in the NCC.
Ritika shares that she always used to be very active in sports in which she had been a National player of Basketball. So she never thought of becoming a Beautician in the future. But her aunt gradually influenced her to do beauty parlour work and developed her interest in it by continuously poking her. In her ninth class, she felt like doing something instead of sitting idle at home but because of her young age, she could not get a job anywhere else other than some beauty parlour. Then she took her first job as a trainer in a parlour and for ten years she worked there only. That’s how her journey to become a Beautician started.
Ritika considers her husband, parents and her daughter as her role models as they supported her in every phase and decision of life, stood by her and always encouraged and motivated her to move forward in life.
About her struggles, Ritika says that she got married at a very young age of twenty years, due to which she had to face many challenges. Her graduation was also going on and so she could not devote much time at home. Even after doing hard labour at job, she was not paid a handsome amount so she started to help her husband in his multiple businesses and did great in them as well. Meanwhile her daughter, Kushagra was born, yet she did all household chores and struggled a lot to move forward in life. As her expenses started increasing, she started thinking of doing something big in life. Eventually, at the behest of her husband and parents, she thought of setting up a small parlour of her own. She also started keeping cosmetic items in her parlour to generate good revenue. Slowly her business started growing, clients also started increasing and when she started making good money, she quit her job.
After getting success in her parlour business, Ritika started the business of girls wear and accessories as she is a business minded lady. She visited Mumbai to explore and have a break from work, but came up with another business idea. With time, she went on to expand her business.
Describing her achievements, Ritika says that once she participated in a makeup competition in Mumbai where she got the ‘Best Makeup Artist Award’. She was given a seven-star trophy, which was her first achievement in this field. Moving ahead, she became a celebrity makeup artist and it is a matter of great pride for her. Apart from this, in school life, she played many sports at the state, district and national levels whose medals and certificates are still with her.
Ritika advises the newcomers who want to come into this field to first introspect and see if you have a passion to do this. And if you are interested in this field, then invest day and night in learning this work and work hard only then you can succeed in this field.
