Ritesh Samtani belongs to Abu Road in Rajasthan. He owns a custom-made clothing business in Udaipur with two sister companies, one in Thailand and the other in Europe.
Ritesh reminisces the peaceful and down-to-earth atmosphere of Abu Road as part of his childhood memories.
Ritesh completed a Bachelor in Commerce from a college in Abu Road. After his graduation, he went to Bangkok to learn Tailoring and work as a Salesman and do business. He stayed in Bangkok for thirteen years and designed clothes for foreign tourists there. Then, he came back to India and got married. Later, at the age of thirty-five, he decided to start his own business after experiencing the tourism-rich culture of Udaipur. As part of his business, he also went to France and Norway and expanded his business there. Ritesh makes sure to visit Norway every couple of months to sell his products and make more clients.
Ritesh shares that he struggled every time he went to a new nation. The lodging, food, and language issues were the main ones that made him homesick many times. However, his luck favoured him, as he says, and wherever he went he met kind and helpful people, who motivated and guided him. He tried to do business in France but couldn’t succeed. Thereafter, he went to Norway and felt the people there were interested in his products. Thus, he started his business gradually in Norway. He believes that one needs to know the way to handle struggles.
Ritesh believes that the feedback of his customers and clients about his honesty, dedication, services, designs, hard work, and passion are his achievements. Moreover, the trust, love, and affection of his Norwegian friends are also valuable achievements in his life. His daughter too is his biggest achievement.
During Covid, Ritesh couldn’t travel to Norway but continued taking orders and sending supplies. He believes that Covid was God’s way of giving us a break from the hustle and bustle of life to take care of our body, mind, health, and Mother Nature. It was a time to reflect on our existence and our purpose in life.
Ritesh’s parents, his wife, and his boss in Thailand are his major inspirations in life who helped, supported, and groomed his personality for the best.
Ritesh affirms that Education is crucial for growth and Experience comes from applying that Education at work. Thus, both complement each other.
Ritesh admires the Leadership qualities of his boss in Thailand and wants to be like him.
