Ritesh Gupta is an artist in Mumbai.
Ritesh completed his education in Mumbai. He had been interested in the arts since childhood. He used to do drawings and sketches. He participated in and won many competitions. When he was in seventh grade, a new drawing teacher was appointed at his school, and he trained Ritesh for the drawing exam. Ritesh got an A grade in that exam, and gradually he decided to pursue a career in the art field. He improved his skills by practising for hours. He participated in many competitions and won a prize in every competition that year.
Furthermore, when he was in the eighth grade, he started practising rangoli, wall painting, etc. His teacher guided him to pass the intermediate exam in the art field. He won 50 to 60 prizes and also participated in state-level competitions. In ninth grade, he changed schools and got admission to a private school because of his art. He utilised the time during the lockdown to improve his skills as an artist. He participated in approximately twenty online competitions at that time.
Gradually, he started working and taking on wall painting projects. He also scored well in his studies in the tenth grade. He took admitted to SK Somaiya College and worked on various wall painting projects in Mumbai. After completing the twelfth grade, he started preparing for the CET exam, which he recently cleared. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Sharing his achievements, Ritesh says that he has received many prizes and participated in various competitions. The biggest achievement for him was when Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about his art in the programme ‘Maan Ki Baat’.
Ritesh advises that it is important to set goals first in the initial classes. One should never give up in life.
When asked about his struggles, Ritesh says that initially, his parents didn’t support his artwork as they believed that there was no future in this field. But slowly and gradually, after seeing his talent, his parents started supporting him. His family and other people appreciated his work, which gives him motivation.
Ritesh’s role model is Vasudev Kamat, and he wants to become like him.
Advising aspirants to his field, Ritesh says that it is important to show your talent and to give your hundred percent in the art field. As an artist, it is essential to improve your skills and showcase your talent in front of others. Hard work and regular practice are required in this field. Make your thinking and visualisation different from others to achieve success.
