Rishi has been working in the Railways for the past two decades. He says that everyone should join the Railways as it is a very good job and has many benefits.

Rishi Vyas is from Udaipur and is working in the Zonal Railways Training Institute, Udaipur, Rajasthan. He has been serving in the Railways for the past twenty years.

Rishi says that he works in the Model Room. Here miniature models of actual railway components are kept for explanation and informative purposes. He informs us that this model room is the biggest in Asia. His work includes repairing these miniature models and ensuring their smooth functioning. Rishi says that technological advancements have made it easier to detect problems and circuit issues. It has reduced the burden on them.

Rishi says that his father was also in the Railways. Due to this, Rishi used to visit Railway offices with his father and hence developed a liking for the department.

Rishi shares that initially he had faced difficulties in his job. Being from a city, rural postings were tough to manage. He says that there used to be no one to talk to, he had to travel distances to get water and bear the desert climate. However, with time, and cooperation from fellow workers, he traversed the tough part of his job and completed twenty years of service. He urges the youth to choose serving in the Railways as a profession and serve the country.

Rishi feels that a good leader is one who helps subordinates and guides them to the right path. A leader should be a link between juniors and seniors and create a proper channel of communication between them.

Rishi considers Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam as his ideal. He says that it was because of Dr. Kalam that India’s Missile Mission saw the light of day. Rishi likes to read novels written by him and draws inspiration from them.
