Coming from a small Jharkhand town, Richa faced all the usual hurdles and struggled hard to carve out a niche for herself in the modeling and acting field.

Richa Kalra is an actor and singer. She has been working in the entertainment industry for more than five years as both an actress and a singer. She has also learnt Kathak.

Recalling her childhood, Richa says she was born in Hazaribagh in Jharkhand and always wanted to become an actress. Her parents always  supported her in achieving her dreams. She used to be a weak student during her middle school years. However, her teacher Ajit supported her, and she completed middle school with good grades.

Richa says that her journey was made easier because her parents have always been encouraging to her. When she went to Daulat Ram College in Delhi University for further studies, she also used to do modeling in Delhi. Later, she shifted to Mumbai and faced struggles in her career. She gave auditions door to door. As she was also a good singer, she did singing shows with Master Saleem to earn some money. However, her confidence and belief in herself did not let her down and she started getting movies.

Sharing her achievements, Richa says that seeing her performance in 10th grade, her school principal appointed her as president and head girl of her school, which was one of her greatest achievements. She also topped her district in the PHE exams. She also managed to get an advertisement assignment in Delhi on her own, which was a huge achievement for her. Working in the feature film "Machaan" is also a great accomplishment for her.She has now acted in more than five Hindi and Telugu films. Besides, she has also done many advertisements for top companies like Lakme, Nyasa, VLCC etc. She has also done many Pnjabi songs with famous Punjabi singers.

Talking about her mistakes, Richa says she did not get information about people before meeting them, or she trusted people easily, which increased her problems further. She also learned lessons from life, as she says people should do their homework before any task. She also learned that it is better to convey your feelings and demands than being silent. She says, you must get everything clarified before signing a contract.

When asked about her role models, Richa says that her mother is her role model since she was motivated by her dedication to hard work.

Richa’s life mantra is "Stay happy in whatever situation you are.” On the other hand, she believes in keeping on working, even if you have achieved a lot.
