Richa Kalra is an actress, psychologist, and singer who has been active in the entertainment industry for over five years.

From a young age, she has also been a Kathak dancer. Richa made a significant change in her career path, moving from psychology to acting, with strong support from her parents, who always encouraged her to excel in her studies. However, her passion for acting led her to pursue it as a full-time career.

Richa Kalra proudly shares that, after her outstanding performance in 10th grade, her school principal appointed her as the school's president and head girl. She also achieved top marks in the PHE exams at the district level. Additionally, Richa secured an advertisement assignment in Delhi, which she considers a significant milestone in her journey.

Kalra began her career in Delhi by approaching the casting team at HomeShop18 directly.  This initiative landed her first TV advertisement for Nayasa. Since then, Kalra has worked with numerous well-known artists from the Punjabi music industry and collaborated with several famous brands. One of her notable achievements is her role in the feature film Machaan, which added to her growing list of accomplishments. Richa has now appeared in over five Hindi and Telugu films and has been featured in advertisements for top brands like Lakme, Nayasa, VLCC, and more. Additionally, she has worked on several Punjabi music projects with celebrated singers. Her latest film releases include Aa Bhi Ja O Piya, Machaan, Mahishasurudu, and Fiza Mein Tapish, marking a series of back-to-back successes in the film industry.

Richa Kalra is not only a talented actress but also a skilled singer. To support herself early on, she performed live shows and even shared the stage with renowned singer Master Salim. As a producer, she successfully produced two songs, which were later picked up by T-Series and Zee Music, further showcasing her versatility in the entertainment industry.

Kalra’s journey has not been without its challenges. She recalls struggling when transitioning from a Hindi-medium to an English-medium school. For two years, in 6th and 7th grades, she studied in a Hindi-medium school before enrolling at DAV School in the 8th grade, where classes were in English. During this period, she considered herself a weak student. However, with the constant support and guidance of her teacher, Ajit Sir, who she now regards as a brother, she overcame these difficulties. Thanks to his dedication, Richa was able to improve academically, consistently passing her exams with good results—achieving 76% in her 10th grade exams and 86% in 12th grade.

After moving to Mumbai, Richa Kalra encountered various challenges in her career. She knocked on doors for auditions. Despite the struggles, her self-confidence and determination helped her land acting roles. She initially spent two months in Versova before relocating to another part of Mumbai, driven by her passion and commitment rather than desperation.

After completing her education, Richa Kalra began earning a stable income and has never needed to ask her parents for financial support. Through dedication and by seizing the right opportunities, she was able to buy her own flat in Mumbai.

Recalling her childhood, Richa Kalra, born and raised in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, always aspired to become an actress. Her parents fully supported her in pursuing her dreams. When she moved to Delhi for her studies at Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, she also ventured into modeling. Her journey in Delhi felt a bit more relaxed, thanks to the support of her mother and brothers.

Kalra believes that success comes from striving for excellence in any field. She emphasizes the value of a well-rounded education and the importance of co-curricular activities in achieving one's goals.

Reflecting on her journey, Richa Kalra admits that trusting people too easily and not gathering sufficient information before meetings led to some challenges. She has since learned the importance of conducting thorough research and ensuring clarity in her roles before accepting them. Kalra encourages aspiring performers to carefully choose roles that truly suit them, while staying informed and prepared for every opportunity.

Richa Kalra recalls an incident in Dehradun where she believed she was auditioning for a lead role, only to find out that two other actresses were also vying for the same part. Due to miscommunication, she realized the importance of role clarification. After expressing her discomfort to the writer, he appreciated her honesty and created an additional lead role specifically for her, which she ultimately secured. This experience taught her the value of effectively communicating one's thoughts and feelings. Richa emphasizes the importance of voicing concerns, especially in contract negotiations, rather than staying silent.

When it comes to role models, Richa Kalra cites her mother as her biggest inspiration. She admires her mother's dedication to hard work, running her beauty salon, "आओ ना पार्लर," which she has successfully expanded from one location to three.

Kalra believes there are three types of people: those who work hard to achieve their desired results, those who adjust their work until they are satisfied, and those who never stop striving for improvement even after reaching their goals. She identifies with the third type, much like her mother, deriving fulfillment from continuous hard work while enjoying the rewards along the way. For Richa, finding satisfaction in work and earning through it is the ultimate achievement.

Richa Kalra expresses that success knows no limits and satisfaction is boundless. Once you fully immerse yourself in your work, it becomes your primary focus. She admires Amitabh Bachchan's work ethic, noting how he continues to work diligently even at his age.

Richa's life mantra is to 'stay happy in whatever situation you are.' She emphasizes the importance of continuous effort even after achieving success. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when she was stuck for six months, Richa learned the value of self-love, spreading happiness, and creating a positive environment. She believes that cultivating happiness within yourself can have a ripple effect, positively influencing those around you. To maintain mental well-being, she advocates connecting with nature and practicing meditation, which she finds essential for achieving peace and balance.

For Richa Kalra, blessings play an integral role in her life. She feels fortunate to have supportive parents and acknowledges their significant role in her success. She expresses gratitude to her principal for their encouragement and guidance, and appreciates Ajit Kumar Sir, whom she met in Delhi, for steering her in the right direction. Richa also thanks the instructors at Desire Academy for their help with theater. In Mumbai, she credits Dev Fozdar Sir for taking her acting to the next level and extends her thanks to her brother, sister-in-law, and father for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
