Her family always wanted her to pursue something related to art. Her family put her into Kathak practice, and slowly her interest in the art grew.

Speaking about her journey, Rhythm says it was quite amazing, yet she faced some ups and downs. She says that there were times she used to feel demotivated, however, her parents pushed her a lot. Initially she was more interested in other dance forms than Kathak, but due to family pressure, she continued with the dance form and eventually developed her interest into the same. For the initial three years, her teacher only taught her the basics, and she used to get bored doing the same thing repeatedly. However, with time, she eventually started observing the results of her hardwork and continued practicing. She actively took part in her school functions, and when she joined college, it gave her the opportunities to explore her art more and enhance her skills more and more.

Rhythm used to learn Kathak from Guru Rashmi Nanda when she was in college. She participated in a competition organized in her college and her performance was a huge success, which was very encouraging. Also, she attended three youth festivals in different cities and stood first in all the three competitions. Thereafter, she decided to pursue MA in Kathak and that is where she got the opportunity to learn Kathak of the Lucknow Gharana from Dinesh Gupta.

After completing her masters, Rhythm started teaching  at BBK DAV college. She took her students to the nationals . Thereafter, as she wanted to do something independently, she started her own dance studio with the support of her family.

Regarding her mistakes, Rhythm says that there came a point in her life when she got diverted from her passion towards dancing. She regrets her mistake, but says that she realized her mistake and came back stronger.

Sharing her life mantra, Rhythm says that ‘Look up high’ is the mantra she follows. She says that trusting yourself is very important to excel in any field. Further, she says that hard work and energy are really important to achieve your goals. Confidence plays an important role too.

To the youngsters, Rhythm suggests they pursue a career in Kathak. She believes that patience is the key to success in life. She says that traditional dance is graceful and youngsters should definitely think of it as a career opportunity. Be it a boy or a girl, anybody can pursue Kathak. Set up a goal in your life and you will definitely achieve success in life.
