Inspired by her father, Reshma strives to help the underprivileged and to empower women for self-sufficiency. She was recognised by the Bikaner district collector and was honoured with the Bharat Bhushan Ratna for her impactful social work.

Reshma Verma is a social worker and the Director of the Women Skills Training Center. She is dedicated to empowering women from tribal areas and equipping them with the skills to become self-employed. Additionally, she also serves as a Head of the Department at Little Champs School, Agra.

Reshma believes that every woman possesses unique talents that need nurturing. In her role as the Director of the Women Skills Training Center, she assists women in recognising and enhancing their abilities. Through training in sewing, beauty parlour techniques, cooking, meditation, yoga, and aerobics, she enables them to work from home and achieve self-reliance. Her efforts have enabled numerous women to lead dignified and independent lives.

Inspired by her father's altruism, Reshma always felt a calling to help the underprivileged. Witnessing her father's acts of kindness as a child instilled in her a desire to contribute to society. She finds immense joy in fulfilling the needs of others.

Sharing about her journey as a teacher, Reshma says she spent over thirty years in Rajasthan, teaching in various schools across Jaipur, Udaipur, and Bikaner, teaching Hindi, Sanskrit, Art, Craft, Yoga, and Music. Presently, she resides in Agra, serving as a head of the department at Little Champs School while also overseeing skills training centres in Agra and Bikaner.

Balancing roles as a social worker, teacher, and trainer, Reshma, also a housewife, attributes her success to her time management skills.

Hailing from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, she completed her schooling there itself. Thereafter, she earned her graduation and post-graduation degrees from Agra University. She was also part of the NCC (National Cadet Corps) during her college days. She pursued additional diploma courses from various institutes, including one from Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College, Udaipur, believing education to be essential before working in any field. She continues to pursue learning opportunities to this day.

Reshma considers her father her primary role model and draws inspiration from everyone she encounters. Her motto is, "If you are passionate about achieving your goals, believe in yourself, and work tirelessly until you succeed."

Sharing the struggles that she faced, Reshma says that she had to fulfil her family responsibilities along with her social work. People would question her decision to work outside, even when her husband is earning well. But her passion to help people has kept her motivated.

Talking about her achievements, Reshma says she has been honoured for her contributions to social activities by various organisations. She distributed 5000 masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, for which she received recognition from the district collector of Bikaner. She was also awarded the Bharat Bhushan Ratna. She has received accolades as a teacher, counsellor, and motivational speaker and is set to receive a doctorate.

For aspiring social workers, Reshma recommends pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Social Work, which will help them land a job in any reputed organisation. She emphasises the importance of having passion for helping others. For those interested in skill training, she advises education up to the eighth grade and completion of schooling through open school programmes.

Addressing the youth, she advises them to be disciples in their lives and to be cautious against procrastinating. She advises the parents to make their daughters self-sufficient and give them the freedom to explore the world.
