Rehman Ali is a singer from Jaipur.
Rehman says that his training started at the age of seven with his grandfather. Later, he trained under Ustad Banne Khan Sahab. Rehman says that he also worked in the field of stones and also lived in Thailand for some time doing business in it. However, his grandfather always wanted him to come into the field of singing.
Rehman then gave interviews in Radio and Akashwani and started working there. In 2000, he won a music reality show which saw the presence of legends like Chandan Das and Kuldeep singh among others. In 2009, he participated in “Amul Music Ka Maha Muqabla” and was in the team of Shreya Ghoshal. Rehman says that he got the chance to meet legends like Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Mika Singh, Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar among many others.
Rehman says that after that he became quite popular and people started recognising him. Some time later, Rehman did a show with Jagjit Singh titled “Mohe Rang De” on Pragya TV. Then he participated in “Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar” and reached the semi finals. After that, Rehman felt like going home as he started missing his place and left for his hometown.
Talking about his mistakes, Rehman says that going back home, leaving Mumbai was a mistake as he had many projects at hand at that time. However, as his father was not well and hence he really had no choice.
Speaking about his role models, Rehman says that his guru, Ustad Banne Khan is his role model. Also he adds that he gets inspiration from all singing and music legends like, Mohammad Rafi, Manna De, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and many more.
In his free time, Rehman likes to spend time listening to good music and spending time with positive people. Rehman says that his desire still is to become a good playback singer.
