Reena says that she had always dreamt of becoming a Magistrate as she used to accompany her father, who is also a lawyer, to court since childhood and got inspired seeing him. Growing up, she did a lot of preparations to become a Magistrate and gave exams several times but could never clear it.
Reminiscing about her childhood, Reena says that her childhood was spent well in her village. She used to play with marbles, went to pluck mangoes and played many outdoor games besides doing swimming.
Talking about struggles, Reena says that she did not have to struggle much in her life for always having her family’s support financially as well as emotionally. She shares that in her village it was not considered appropriate for girls to get higher education due to which they were taught just till 12th and their parents got them married. But her parents gave all their children good education and even sent them to college. It was a big deal for her and her parents always wanted their children to do something great in life as they had also achieved a lot in life.
Challenges in her life began when she did her LLB and despite working for twelve hours a day, she did not get paid. But after four years of hard work and learning, all her three professions started running well and she also started earning well.
Reena says that during the Covid pandemic, she did not face problems related to food or other basic necessities. On the professional front she had to face some challenges like due to the lockdown her Yoga sessions were closed and she could not go for PT either. So she had to shift her yoga sessions and her college lectures to the online platform. All the work of the court was stopped and only emergency work was going on.
Reena considers her parents as her role models because her father gave her good education by sending her to Mumbai and getting her educated. He supported her wholeheartedly to make her stand on her own feet against all odds. She has learned everything in life from her father only. Her mother is a very hardworking woman as she took care of everything and everybody at home doing all the household chores alone.
Apart from work, Reena is fond of dancing and doing physical activities. She loves trekking, swimming and walking at Fatehsagar lake in her spare time. She also likes to do plantation and gardening.
Reena advises the young generation that in whatever field you want to go, you should have knowledge about it. You must know what is right and what is wrong. Apart from this, you should have good communication skills.
