A Hindi teacher at MDS School, Reema, chose the subject to make our national language interesting to learn for students.

Reema Sharma is a Hindi teacher teaching classes 9 and 10 at MDS School, Udaipur. She completed her education and began a job as a Hindi teacher at Delhi Public School.

Reema then pursued and completed her B.Ed. After marriage, she shifted to Udaipur. She briefly taught at Noble International School. She is currently teaching at MDS, where, according to her, the professional environment is very positive and uplifting.

All the Hindi-related school programs are also organized by Reema and other Hindi teachers in the school. According to her, children today do not find interest in subjects such as Hindi. She makes it a point to get most of her students interested in the subject. She believes, as an educator, that it should be compulsory as it is our national language.

Reema completed her higher education at a time when daughters were only meant to be married off and not participate in any sort of occupation or job. Despite the society she grew up in, her parents had always supported her. Her brothers were against her pursuing teaching jobs, but despite their disagreements, she continued studying. Her husband also supported her after marriage and inspired her to complete her higher education and teach as a profession.

Her parents are role models for her. Whenever society believed she could never make it big, her parents were a beacon of inspiration and hope for her. Her husband is a role model to her as well. He helps her with household chores when she feels under the weather.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online teaching was the only alternative route for teaching left since physical classes were prohibited. From a professional standpoint, the pandemic has been challenging for school teachers. Cooperation and interaction were not always seamless. She believes that there is a notable difference between online and physical classes and students’ attitudes toward both forms of teaching. Students found it difficult to share problems online. She believes that physical classroom teaching can never be replaced by online classes.

Reema believes that a teacher is the role model for students in their childhood, and a teacher must lead and educate children by example. One should motivate students and help them learn interactively while also maintaining discipline. She says that she has won the Best Teacher and Coordinator Award of the school twice.

Reema wanted to pursue law. But now, she takes pride in teaching, as she believes that she is helping society by molding leaders of the future. However, given a chance to go back to the past, she would have liked to see what it meant to become a lawyer. If she could go back in time, she would want to go back to her childhood days.
