Leaving social barriers behind, Ravindra is successfully running his academy of martial arts.

Ravindra is a martial arts trainer. He has run his academy since 2012 in Delhi under the name International Academy of Shotokan Karate, affiliated with the Japan Shotokan Karate Federation. He feels that martial art is an art of living.

Ravindra was born in Bokaro, Jharkhand. His desire to learn Shotokan Karate was kindled by watching films. After some time, he came to know that a training center was nearly 15-16 km away from his home. He and one of his friends joined this class when they were in class 9th. He was also interested in graphics, says Ravindra.

Ravindra trained in Shotokan karate for three years. In 1993, he started teaching the same. People said that there was no scope in sports. So, Ravindra joined a course in photography and then joined a news channel called Aankhon Dekhi. But after 10 years he thought that martial art was the best field to make his career. Then finally in Delhi, he opened his academy and started teaching Shotokan Karate.

When asked about his role models in life, Ravindra says that his role model is Hirokazu Kanazawa whose dedication and love for this art inspired him.

During Covid, Ravindra says that his training center was closed and he was worried about his living. However, he did not lose courage and started his online classes. He spent most of the time with his family during the pandemic.

For one and all, Ravindra advises learning this art, especially women, so that they can become mentally confident also. Abhay says that they can also take it as a sport and start their own centers.

In his free time, Ravindra writes books in Hindi with photos of the postures of Shotokan Karate. He also uploads self-learning videos on YouTube in his spare time, says Ravindra.
