Ravi Prakash Upadhyay is a music teacher at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Balrampur, Chattisgarh.

Ravi Prakash says he had been interested in music since he was a child. His father and mother both enjoyed music, despite coming from very different professions. All his sisters were learning music and used to go to classes. He says that his eldest sister had supported and inspired him to learn music, and she would convince him to practice every day. In 1981, he also participated in one of the stage shows in Nagpur when he was still a child. Due to his parents' and sisters' support, he was able to follow his musical journey.

Talking about his profession, Ravi Prakash says he started working at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya on a contract basis and later got a permanent job as a music teacher. He has a specialization in tabla and also plays the flute. He feels satisfied with his current job and finds solace in teaching his students.

Sharing about his achievements, Ravi Prakash says that the love and respect that he receives from his students is the biggest accomplishment of his life. During the pandemic, he also launched his own YouTube channel, where he mentors aspiring students.

When asked about his role models, Ravi Prakash says that his father and his guru have been his guiding lights throughout his journey.

In his spare time, he likes to listen to music. He also likes reading spiritual books.
