Ravi’s Gangamani Fashions specializes in manufacturing handcrafted luxury gifts for affluent clients and corporates. He also  serves as Mentor of the Northern Region for the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Chairman of the Handicrafts Committee for FORTI, and Co-Chairman of the MSME Development Committee.

Entrepreneur Ravi Rela of Jaipur established Gangamani Fashions, Art & Crafts, a business that creates premium handcrafted gifts that draw inspiration from the rich Rajasthani heritage. Having worked for some of India's largest corporate entities, such as the Hinduja Group, he has been in this industry for 23 years.

Ravi turned down working for his father's grain business in the neighborhood mandi after completing his degree. Rather, he discovered a rare item that he really liked: a painting made of gemstones. In 1998, he started a company of the same name. However, he had difficulty getting the paintings sold in the shop where they were sold. He consequently attempted to market them to corporate businesses, and his efforts were successful to some extent. When he received his first order for 15,000 pieces from a pharmaceutical company in 1999, his outstanding business journey started.

In 2003, Ravi's firm was growing when he suffered a major setback: a TB diagnosis. His recovery from the illness took eighteen months. With his mother's encouragement and the support of a friend who worked as a psychiatrist, he made it through the difficult period.

Ravi says he visited several large cities and met with managers of large corporate houses in an effort to build his clientele. In addition to his constant commitment and superior quality of his handicraft items, he gained referrals and recommendations from his clients. He maintains that in his 23 years in the business, not a single order has failed to meet quality standards.

He took part in fairs and exhibitions in all the big cities, and over time, his brand gained recognition. He was passionate about offering his clients outstanding service. His company was awarded Rajasthan's Best Brand as well.

According to Ravi, the handicraft industry has never been well organized till now. The majority of the artisans were unfamiliar with writing things down and delivering bills. He has made an effort to educate them about banking, cheques, payments, and other relevant topics.

After becoming President of the Lions Club in 2005, Ravi planned multiple events for more than 10,000 children. In 2015, he was named the Best President among 2000 Lions Clubs. Additionally, Ravi serves as Mentor of the Northern Region for the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Chairman of the Handicrafts Committee for FORTI, and Co-Chairman of the MSME Development Committee.

He spent the pandemic taking part in various online exhibitions. Additionally, he coordinated the famous speaker Dr. Vivek Bindra's online session, and drew a record 1,80,000 viewers. Personally, he spent meaningful time with his family while also picking up a few life skills.

Ravi had a fun and joyful childhood as he was born into a middle-class family and had twelve cousins. He states they instilled in him the value of teamwork and cooperation when he was young. He was taught to depend on others to function in groups from a young age.

Failure is a necessary part of the journey to success, in Ravi's opinion, and it should be welcomed as an opportunity for learning. He highlights that in order to succeed in business, one must have a clear vision and must think broadly. Recalling his difficult moments, Ravi tells us that in 2011, he was put to the test when he lost his brother in an accident. He was able to get through that difficult period with the help of his friends, family, and club members.

Entrepreneurs should prioritize manufacturing high-quality goods and giving their clients the best possible service, according to Ravi. According to him, in order to succeed in business, you should never break your promises. He concludes by emphasizing the need of having a general life philosophy that prioritizes giving more than taking.
