Ravi joined his family business of dairy farms and has been keeping up the legacy of his 60 years old ancestral business.

Ravi Borana is the owner of Jodhpur Dairy.

Ravi hails from Udaipur. He did his schooling at St. Gregorios School, followed by his BA from MLSU. He then did two diploma courses in Human Rights and Journalism. Later he did an M.Com and an MA. He joined his family business of dairy farms after completing his education.

Talking about his dairy farm, Ravi says that it is the only dairy of Udaipur that has its own cattle and it houses more than 100 cattle. He says that the business was started in Udaipur by his father and he has been taking it forward. Earlier, he says, the use of technology in this business was not as prevalent but now he has employed the use of technology as well.

Speaking of struggling times in his business, Ravi says that every business comes with a risk of loss and the same is true for his business as well. He says that sometimes he has faced loss in the business and even death of his cattle. But he never gave up and kept on with the business.

Ravi considers his father as his role model, who taught him the basics of the business and also taught him life values.

Comparing education and experience, Ravi says that while education is important, experience is more crucial in life as it helps you learn something in a good manner.

Given a chance to go back in time with a time machine, Ravi would like reliving his school life.

Advising the younger generation, Ravi says that you should go for a business rather than pursuing a job. He further says that the dairy business is also a good option for you if you want to do business.

Sharing his COVID experience, Ravi says that it came with both positive and negative experiences. He further adds that while dairy businesses were allowed to operate, many other jobs had to suffer a lot due to the lockdown. He says that loss during the pandemic was inevitable as sometimes the produce would spoil due to less number of orders, and even arranging food for cattle became a challenge.
