Despite not getting any formal education in the field of drawing, Ravi has made his place in this field by following the works of great artists and guidance of his gurus, which made him popular for his online classes all over the world.

Ravi Bhagwat has been working as a painting artist for the last thirty years. He also gives online and offline drawing classes along with making his art pieces and selling and exhibiting them.

Ravi was born and brought up in Gondhavani village in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. He did his schooling from there itself. Later, he got his first job in the field of drawing, making illustrations and cartoons for a newspaper column. Owing to his talent, he got an opportunity to work as a Sub-Editor in the field of Journalism at the same newspaper agency. So far he has worked for twelve different local, district, and national level newspapers. Soon after, he came to know about other artists and their work through the internet, seeing which he dedicatedly developed his skills accordingly and moved forward.

Recollecting his childhood memories, Ravi says that in his childhood, he used to curiously watch an artist in his neighborhood, who used to make signboards, which made him inclined towards drawing. He adds that with time, he became more interested in drawing and painting than in games and sports.

Talking about his role models, Ravi says he considers his mentors and his teachers as his role models for learning good work in this field from them and always moving forward.

Describing his struggles, Ravi says that he comes from a humble background, where his father used to earn his living from the laundry business. So he did not have the money to pursue his career in drawing. So instead, he started helping his father at his shop alongside continuing his passion for drawing.

Regarding his achievements, Ravi says that he made a live caricature of APJ Abdul Kalam on canvas at an event and gifted it to him. Impressed by his art, Abdul Kalam blessed him well, which was no less than an achievement for him. Besides, he made many sketches and posters highlighting social causes to contribute to society, which were displayed in more than hundred exhibitions in Maharashtra and were greatly appreciated by people, which was his biggest achievement.

Sharing his COVID experience, Ravi says that when the whole world was fighting for its livelihood, the question of financial management also arose in his home as all the businesses had come to a standstill. So he started giving online drawing courses to earn his livelihood. It turned out to be a huge success for him as he got more than three thousand students during the first wave of COVID from all over India and abroad.

Advising everyone, Ravi says that no matter what you do in life in order to earn your living, always hold on to your hobby to fulfill your life with joy as well. Further, he says that your hobby has the ability to rescue you from any stress and can make you feel relaxed.
