Dr. Raunak Jangid is an Associate Professor and Head in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur. Raunak has been teaching at the institute for the last fifteen years.
Raunak completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering from IET College, Alwar and his PhD from the College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur. His hobbies include meditating and reading books.
Recalling his childhood, Raunak says he enjoyed playing with his friends and visiting his grandparents' place during the summer holidays. He spent most of his time at his workshop, which laid the foundation for him to make a career in the field of electrical engineering. Inspired by his teachers, Raunak decided to join academia and create better engineers for society.
Discussing his challenges, Raunak shares that since he studied in the Hindi medium, it was difficult for him to cope with the English language during his bachelor's. While Raunak was pursuing his PhD coursework, his wife's health was not at its best, which meant additional responsibilities were placed on his shoulders.
When asked about his role models, Raunak says he draws inspiration from his parents. He also considers Swami Vivekananda his role model, from whom he learned the value of time.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Raunak says that education is something that is never lost and remains forever with you. Adding to it, Raunak says that when education is coupled with experience, one can reach heights.
If Raunak could travel back in time using a time machine, he would revisit his childhood days, which were a phase full of enjoyment and no stress for him.
Raunak advises the youth to make a goal in life and never give up before achieving it. He urges them to walk on the path of Swami Vivekananda and follow his teachings. "Focus on the good and get rid of the negativity or something that does not serve you", says Raunak.
