Rashmi Solanki is a teacher at Guru Siddhartha International School in Sirohi.

Rashmi hails from Sirohi. She completed her schooling in Sirohi itself. After the birth of her child, she took a four-year gap in her professional career.

Rashmi shares that she was always interested in studying and wanted to become a teacher. She continued her studies after the birth of her child and to pursue her career. Her parents always encouraged her to chase her dreams, and her husband also supported her a lot. While pursuing her degree course, she felt very low and did not want to study any further. But her father motivated her. He nudged her to continue her studies, irrespective of the circumstances.

Rashmi’s role model is her mother, who is a retired lecturer and the main inspiration behind her career in teaching. Her mother always encouraged her to spend her time with books and learn as much as she could. She learned to follow the culture and move forward with simplicity from her mother.

When asked about her struggles, Rashmi says that she didn’t face many struggles in her life as she always had the support and motivation of her friends and family. Rashmi believes that having the right mentorship and guidance in life is important, as having the right mentor helps us achieve our goals. She also adds that making good connections during college helps you later in life.

Sharing her Covid experiences, Rashmi realised the importance of the ancient science of Ayurveda. She says that we should have a modern outlook towards life, but at the same time, we should also retain the charms of yesteryear. She spent time with her family. She says that many people suffered during this pandemic. She too had to suffer financially as her classes came to a halt. But her savings helped her sail through the tough time. Furthermore, she says that we all should collectively support the fight against this pandemic and not just solely depend on the government.

Advising aspirants in her field, Rashmi advises the youth that it is important to be clear about your goals and interests in life. Besides, she also advises the aspiring teachers that they should have a mentor who can guide them at all times. She also adds that establishing a healthy relationship with your students also helps. One should have the confidence to deal with the students and always try to give their best. Follow the steps, clear your objects, and plan properly to enter the field of education.

Sharing her achievements, Rashmi says that in 2019, she received a trophy for the best teacher from her students, which is an accomplishment for her. She also makes people satisfied at her workplace with her work and considers it an achievement.

In her free time, Rashmi says that she also fulfils her household duties very well. She likes to spend her free time with her son, husband, and parents. She also likes to listen to music and do gardening.

Rashmi advises that we all should extend help to the needy children in our best capacity. Rashmi likes to read books from across genres, especially the books of Swami Vivekananda. She says that her father considers Swami Vivekanand his ideal, and she considers her father her role model.

The quote of Swami Vivekananda, “All the powers are within you; you can do anything and everything,” always motivates and inspires her a lot.
