Stepping out from the orthodox beliefs of her community, Ranjana became a beautician and is running her parlor successfully in Udaipur.

Ranjana Sisodiya has been running her parlor - 'Shilpi Beauty Parlour' for 15 years.

Ranjana lives at Chitrakoot Nagar in Udaipur.

Talking about her entry into the beauty field, Ranjana says that due to the orthodox beliefs of her community, she was not allowed to do a beauty course. She convinced her husband somehow to let her join a beauty course. Her husband motivated her saying every work has its own value and allowed her to enter the beauty profession.

Unfortunately, as soon as she completed her course, her husband lost his job. She asked her family to let her start a beauty parlor but she was not allowed to do so. To support her family, Ranjana used to stitch clothes of other people in which she used to get only 25 rupees per day. But Ranjana's financial problem increased and again her husband supported her and let her start her beauty parlor. Since then she has been running her parlor successfully.

When asked about role models in her life, Ranjana says that she considers Asha Paliwal and Ashok Paliwal, who taught her all the techniques to run the beauty parlor, as her role models.

Sharing her Covid experience, Ranjana says that it was a difficult period for her too as it was for others.

Comparing education and experience, Ranjana says that if you don't have experience then you will not be able to work anywhere. And if you don't have education then you cannot take any kind of work experience.

Advising everyone, Ranjana says that they should be punctual in their work and never abandon their goals.
