A passionate tech entrepreneur, Ranjan Kumar Baisak has made his mark in the software domain by his venture AppiVA. Building upon his two-year US experience he launched ezTask.io which became a superhit sales automation platform, achieving remarkable success.

Trailblazer CEO of AppiVA Software Ranjan Kumar Baisak was born and brought up in Bhuban, Odisha, the largest village in Asia.

Baisak says he had always been passionate about technology and innovation. Under his leadership, AppiVA successfully launched ezTask.io, a sales automation platform, which he considers a milestone achievement for the company. Ranjan's extensive expertise in technical development and product innovation, deep knowledge of software and technology has played a crucial role in shaping his career and driving his company's success.

Reflecting on his career path, CEO Ranjan Kumar Baisak shares how his passion and desire for success shaped his career. After completing his schooling, Ranjan pursued his education in the field of Software Engineering. He started his professional life with his first job in Kolkata and then shifted to Bengaluru for other opportunities. After some time he started thinking of shifting to the US for further growth, an opportunity he eventually grabbed. He stayed in the US for a couple of years before shifting back to Bengaluru.

Founder of AppiVA Software, Baisak shares that he gained valuable experience while working in the US before returning to Bengaluru, where he initiated his entrepreneurial life. He made this decision considering that he is the only son and had to take care of his parents. Baisak knew he would be doing entrepreneurship after shifting back to Bengaluru. He bought two houses, one for his family and another one as an investment, to stabilize himself in Bengaluru.

When asked about his achievements, Baisak shares that he feels accomplished when his parents are happy, and he moved back to India only to take care of his parents. Recalling his early life, Ranjan says he had never thought of being at this position. He prioritizes his family and their happiness and considers it as the biggest achievement in his life. He  highlights that his parents are not that educated and lived their whole life in a village, which made him more responsible towards his parents. The success of ezTask.io and getting the investors and partners for his startup was also a great accomplishment for Ranjan Kumar.

Another achievement for Ranjan Kumar Baisak is that now he is in a position through which he can fulfill his childhood dreams one by one. He further adds to this that entrepreneurial life is a continuous process and there is a lot to achieve and accomplish for him.

Describing his entrepreneurial life, Ranjan Kumar Baisak acknowledges the ups and downs he has faced along the way. However, he emphasizes that these experiences have taught him valuable life lessons, particularly the ability to survive and thrive independently.

Ranjan Kumar Baisak shares that AppiVA Software was not his first entrepreneurial venture. He initially started another venture with his friends, but that did not turn out as planned. Reflecting on this experience, he states that while close friends may be great in personal life, they may not always be the best business partners. This realization became his first major learning in business.

Baisak, determined to build something on his own, co-founded AppiVA in 2016 alongside his wife, Bandita Baisak. The success of their product  ‘ezTask.io’, helped the startup attract partners from Canada and Europe over time, further strengthening its  global presence. It became a turning point, driving growth for AppiVA Software and attracting investors. Now, Ranjan, alongside his co-founder and partners, is focusing on the expansion of his company, aiming to introduce new products, enter new markets, and establish additional branches to drive further growth.

Ranjan Baisak expresses deep gratitude for his wife Bandita, who has been his constant support through every phase of life. He happily states that after much struggle, now he is living happily with his parents, wife, and daughter in which he takes immense pride.

AppiVA CEO Ranjan Kumar Baisak describes his childhood by recalling the financial struggles his family faced. He shares that there were times, when they even struggled to afford food. Looking back, he says he had never imagined reaching this position in life. However, he believes that those hardships helped him build resilience, enabling him to handle stress and overcome challenges.

He also shares that during his school time, his primary focus was simply on survival due to the lack of basic resources like books and stationery. He describes one of his biggest challenges as the time when he  tried to secure a loan for his engineering studies. Ranjan’s family had no assets for collateral, leading to repeated loan rejections. However, thanks to his strong academic performance, a bank manager approved an alternative loan under his father’s name, allowing him to pursue his education.

Reflecting on these past experiences, Ranjan states that he sees these struggles as the foundation of his entrepreneurial mindset, helping him navigate the business world with confidence and determination. When he started his company AppiVA four years ago, he encountered numerous difficulties, but his past experiences had already shaped his ability to manage pressure effectively that enabled him to remain calm and composed throughout the process.

As an experienced entrepreneur, Ranjan Kumar Baisak, advises aspiring business owners to ensure they have a strong financial foundation and savings before starting their venture. He highlights that in the early stages, it is uncertain whether a business will generate good sales or attract investors for capital and funding.

Sharing insights from his own life experience, Ranjan recalls the challenges he faced in the beginning. He had to invest all his savings to launch his business. In the beginning he also struggled with choosing the right product to develop. His first attempt, a productivity tool, did not achieve the desired success. However, he pivoted and launched ezTask.io, a platform designed to help sales professionals streamline their non-sales tasks.

Tech expert Ranjan Kumar Baisak encourages young entrepreneurs to be self-sufficient and confident, as running one’s own business is vastly different from working for someone else.

He emphasizes the importance of self-reliance, especially for individuals living in different cities or countries. He believes that one must take full responsibility for themselves in such situations.

Ranjan K. Baisak further explains it by drawing a parallel between entrepreneurship and life, stating that just as living with parents provides a sense of security and protection, living alone presents an entirely different set of challenges. Ultimately, he believes that every individual must strive to be self-sufficient, self-content, and confident to succeed in both business and life.

Additionally, he advises maintaining good connections in society such as with neighbours, as strong social connections can be valuable during uncertain times. Sharing from his own experience, Ranjan highlights the importance of building relationships, fostering a network of support and trust.

Elaborating on his personal life experience, Ranjan Kumar Baisak says he believes that life is full of uncertainties, bringing various challenges and stresses along the way. To navigate these difficulties, Ranjan emphasizes the role of spirituality, suggesting practices like yoga and meditation as effective ways to maintain balance and resilience. Ranjan shares that he also practices daily meditation to stay calm and focused, which helps him manage the ongoing struggles of entrepreneurial life with clarity and determination.

Ranjan Kumar Baisak concedes that one of his biggest mistakes was trying to please everyone. Over time, Ranjan realized that it’s impossible to make everyone happy. He reminds that sometimes, making the right decisions may disappoint others but that’s okay if you feel you are correct.

Ranjan Baisak advises everyone to be confident in their choices and avoid getting distracted by too many opinions. While it’s important to consult family and well-wishers, the final decision should always be your own. He strongly emphasizes the importance of self-sufficiency, urging everyone not to rely too much on others but to trust in their own abilities and judgment.

Ranjan Kumar Baisak, while guiding the young generation, emphasizes the importance of continuously enhancing one’s skill set. He advises individuals to develop skills aligned with market trends and demands, as this can create new opportunities. Giving his own example, Ranjan shares that he is also actively upgrading his own skills to stay relevant in the ever-evolving industry.

He suggests that as an entrepreneur, in the initial stages, at least for the first two years, keep in mind to invest resources carefully and manage funds very cautiously. Ranjan shares that at that time focus should be on surviving with the limited resources available. He also emphasizes the importance of finishing what you start, as every endeavor will either lead to success or provide valuable learning experiences.

Ranjan Kumar Baisak is a family-oriented person who enjoys spending most of his time with his loved ones. He prefers traveling with his family rather than alone. In addition to traveling, he has a deep passion for reading and has explored various books that offer profound insights.

Ranjan shares some insights from a book he read recently ‘The Power of One’, a book designed for entrepreneurs starting their career. He explains that the book emphasizes how, in the early stages of entrepreneurship, one must handle everything independently. Reflecting on its message, he believes that there is nothing inherently wrong with anyone, you just need to work on yourself, success comes from self-growth and continuous improvement.

Founder of AppiVA Ranjan Kumar Baisak further shares that if he ever had the chance to go back in time, he would like to make some changes such as return to the early stages of his career to change the habit of switching jobs frequently. He states that he switched jobs very often, like in every six months or in a year, to gain diverse industry experience. Another thing he would like to change is his decision to move back to India from the U.S., instead, he would have preferred to take his parents with him to the US.
