She says that her journey was not easy, as it was a challenge for her to become an artist 35 years ago, coming from a traditional family.
She says that in 1977 she took admission to the Kathak Kendra. She received her rigorous training from two renowned Kathak gurus, Smt. Reba Vidyarthi and Pt. Birju Maharaj. She received her diploma from Kathak Kendra in New Delhi. In 1999, she started her individual journey as a Kathak dancer.
Speaking about her achievements, Rani says that every artist has a journey of their own, a search of their own, and that she also discovered her own style by giving divine expression to Sufi Qalam and verses through Kathak. Till date, she has exhibited her art with various famous Sufi artists from 17 countries around the world.
The King and Queen of Malaysia also invited her on the occasion of the inauguration of the “Islamic Art Museum," and she performed her Kathak dance program with Hazrat Amir Khusro's Qalam there.

When asked about her mistakes, Rani says that it is important to make mistakes to achieve perfection. She has grown up by learning from her mistakes and believes that mistakes happen because of a lack of experience. That's why she doesn't feel guilty for any of her mistakes; rather, it was a learning experience for her.
When asked about her role models, Rani says she has seen so many dancers and gurus around her who live solely for dance that she considers such people to be her role models at all times.
She is also greatly inspired by Azim Premji, Sudha Murthy, and former President APJ Abdul Kalam, seeing their simplicity and dedication towards social causes.
In her spare time, Rani is fond of cooking, reading, and listening to music. She also meditates every morning to keep herself calm and relaxed.
