Ram Singh Bisht, also known as Raju Bisht, is the owner of a company which supplies medical and surgical equipment and is the distributor for an MNC for West UP, Delhi, and Uttarakhand. He sells surgical equipment used in heart surgery.
Ram comes from a remote area of Uttarakhand, and currently resides in Delhi. He’s a hardworking professional but he could not graduate due to various reasons, which he regrets today.
Ram says that he has no sweet memories of his childhood as it was spent in the mountains, and around twenty four years ago, his family shifted to Delhi, where they've been living as Delhites ever since. He recalls passing his 5th standard at the age of 10 and simultaneously beginning to work, earning INR 50 per month. This early start to hard work has been a part of his life since childhood.
Ram looks up to his mother, father, teacher, and God as his role models.
Ram says that he had done jobs in MNCs for three years in his initial days and then started to work independently.
Ram says that education is very important in his or any other field as it brings immense value to work and enhances it.
To aspirants joining his field, Ram says, “Yes, my field is very good and it has immense scope.”
Ram says that if anyone wants to come in the marketing line, they should at least have an MBA degree to perform smoothly and if someone comes in the production line, his basic education about production should be pretty good.
Ram says“Unemployment has flowers to bloom; every smiling face masks a face of gloom; crying isn’t a way to solve problems; a happy face can do it way too soon. And that’s how I have done it till now…”
Ram shares that he felt quite relaxed and calm after the lockdown was enforced because it was a rare time away from work. But after some days he started feeling claustrophobic and on top of that there were other worries - worries for his family, the education of his children, his business, about the family of his workers, and about their salaries.
Next, he got infected by the virus. But by the grace of God, the conditions never worsened and he didn’t have to run to the hospital. He recovered by staying in house quarantine, says Ram.
Being a workaholic, Ram says that his free time is only when he’s asleep and the rest of the time he is always thinking about work. Therefore, he rarely gets any time for his own entertainment.
Ram advises everyone to go seek spiritual knowledge from Uttarakhand, also known as ‘Devbhumi’ (the abode of Gods).
Ram’s success mantra is to never think bad for anyone even by mistake and keep helping people.
