Rakhi always aspired to become an administrative officer but it could not happen. Eventually, she became a Yoga Instructor and is doing well in it.

Rakhi Sharma is a Yoga Instructor and since last seven years she has been teaching Yoga in Udaipur.

Rakhi belongs to Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh. She went to a Government School there. Then she did her PG from Government Girls College, Dhamtari. She says that she wanted to study further but back then girls were not allowed to study much so she was soon married off in Udaipur.

However, she liked it here because education was considered important in her in-laws’ family and she was motivated to pursue it further. She did Masters in three subjects and always wanted to do something of her own. She says she always had an inclination towards Yoga and also did a certification course in Reiki in 2015. That’s when her journey started and she did Masters in Yoga. Slowly she started teaching Yoga and after getting good response from people, she started her yoga classes as ‘Spiritual Yoga’ in Udaipur.

Rakhi considers her father as her role model as he had worked hard in his life and faced a lot of struggle to give his family a good life. She also considers her husband as her role model because with his support, she could start her yoga classes and she has been able to reach this point in life.

About her Covid experience, Rakhi says that she had to close her yoga class for a long time but it did not impact her much as she owned the space and did not have to pay the rent. She shifted her classes onto the online platform and her students continued to increase.

Talking about her achievements, Rakhi says that she always wanted to do something of her own and running her yoga classes is the biggest achievement for her. Besides, the recognition and respect she has earned because of her profession is nothing less than an achievement for her.

Rakhi believes that Education and Experience are two sides of the same coin because without education you cannot gain the experience and without experience, education has no meaning. She says that because of education, your way of thinking and looking at things changes completely.

If Rakhi had a chance to go back in a Time Machine, she would go back to her college days and prepare for administrative services.

In her spare time, Rakhi likes to read health and nutrition related books.
