Rakesh Yadav is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Techno NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role, having earned his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from The College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE), Udaipur.

In the Civil Engineering Department at Techno NJR Institute of Technology, the focus is on providing students with a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering. The department offers valuable field training and students perform a wide range of laboratory tasks in well-established labs in Concrete Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Computer-Aided Engineering Drawings and Development.

These resources enable students to gain practical knowledge aligned with industry requirements, enhancing their skills and employability. Faculty members are dedicated to mentoring students and actively involve them in national-level engineering competitions, ensuring that each student receives hands-on experience and expertise in their respective fields of civil engineering.

Rakesh Yadav shares that with the rapid advancements in technology, the Civil Engineering Department is planning to integrate new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to better equip students with the skills required for industry demands. They are working on providing in-house field training and AI-related sessions to enhance students' knowledge of advanced technologies. This initiative aims to prepare students for the evolving landscape of the civil engineering industry by offering hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and techniques.

Talking about his achievements, Rakesh Yadav reflects on his journey at Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur, which he joined in 2017. He was offered a significant opportunity by the former Principal, Dr. Pankaj Porwal, to mentor the research team, which marked the beginning of his mentorship role at the college. His dedication and hard work earned him the title of ‘Best Faculty Member’ in 2018.

Additionally, Yadav trained 30 students for the prestigious Bentley STAAD.Pro national-level competition, where 4-5 of his students secured top ranks, further cementing his reputation. For his unwavering commitment and contributions to both teaching and student development, he was honored once again with the ‘Best Faculty’ award.

In the realm of research, Rakesh Yadav has focused on the subject of Elevated Overhead Tank, conducting two major studies analyzing its performance across different seismic zones in India. His comparative study on this subject continues to drive his research efforts, and he remains deeply engaged in enhancing his expertise in the field.

Talking about his inspiration in the academic field, Rakesh Yadav shares that teaching is his true passion, a realization he had during his B.Tech and master studies. He found that teaching allows him to not only impart knowledge but also continue learning while bridging the gap between theory and practical application. He believes that the connection between academic learning and real-world execution is vital, and he strives to enhance his understanding by learning within the institute and applying it in the field.

Reflecting on his early years, Rakesh Yadav recalls he began his education at Vidyaniketan School, and went on to complete a Diploma in Civil Engineering. He furthered his studies with a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from The College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur (CTAE). After completing his education, Yadav worked as a Structural Engineer with Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, gaining practical experience that he now applies in his teaching.

Prior to joining Techno NJR Institute of Technology, he also worked with several architectural firms and started his own designing business. Eventually, he realized his passion for teaching and decided to share his knowledge with students, which led him to join Techno.

When asked about his role models, Rakesh Yadav shares that he is inspired by several people. He considers his mother his primary role model, appreciating all the sacrifices she made for him. He also looks up to Dr. Anurag Mishra, the founder of a construction firm in Jaipur, who provided him with valuable guidance during his stint at Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation. Additionally, he admires his elder brother, whose unwavering support has been a constant source of strength in his life.

The saying,

"ये वक़्त भी गुज़र जायेगा, चाहे वो ख़ुशी का हो या गम का"

inspires Rakesh Yadav, as he believes that nothing in life is permanent and that both happiness and challenges are temporary. He views life's ups and downs as natural, reminding him to stay grounded through all circumstances.

He advises students in the field of civil engineering that they have the opportunity to prove themselves in various tasks, as the field encompasses multiple branches such as environmental, transportation, structural engineering, and more. By connecting with these areas, students can explore diverse career paths. Additionally, he highlights the availability of numerous government job opportunities in this field.

At Techno, the focus is on preparing students with a practical orientation while considering the demands of the industry. Along with theoretical knowledge, emphasis is also placed on developing students' software skills. The primary goal is to provide practical exposure so that students are well-prepared for industry requirements. They are made aware of new technologies, software, and instruments, and are provided with practical training to help them compete effectively in the industry.

About the teaching field, Rakesh Yadav advises new aspirants to enter the education field with passion and energy, as it will enable their students to learn effectively. He emphasizes that discipline is a key lesson, which students can learn both at home and through education. He believes that teaching is the best platform for personal growth, where one can both teach and continuously learn.
