Rajnish, a chemistry enthusiast, has earned his MSc in Organic Chemistry and has been affiliated with Bhavnagar Salt Works for the past twenty-one years while also lecturing.

Rajnish Bharti Goswami is a chemistry enthusiast, having completed his MSc in Organic Chemistry. He has qualified for the NET CSIR JRF and also completed his Bachelor in Education. Rajnish has been imparting his knowledge to students today after being in the teaching field for twenty-one years now. He has also been associated with the Bhavnagar Salt Works for quite some time.

Rajnish belongs to a small village near Dungarpur, from where he did his studies till 10th standard and thereafter his senior secondary from a government school. With a degree in science and having cleared the NET, Rajnish wanted to get into research; however, some episodes in his life diverted him towards teaching.

Rajnish says that his first experience in teaching was with the Aakash Institute as a practice teacher, after which he started taking an interest in the teaching line. Rajnish thereafter joined Central Academy for six years as a PGT chemistry teacher. He has also worked as an organic chemistry expert at Accent Institute, teaching CBSE students and helping them prepare for NEET and JEE exams. Rajnish shares that his teachers had a crucial role to play in his decision to take up teaching as his profession.

Remembering his childhood, Rajnish says he had a difficult one since he spent it in a village without adequate facilities; however, once his father got transferred to a small town, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Rajnish feels that many students take science as their stream out of societal or peer pressure and not out of their own will. He believes that teachers play an important role in developing a child’s interest in studying. Talking about the relevance of science as a stream, Rajnish shares that science, as compared to other streams, is easy to learn and opens up many opportunities that other streams may not have.

Sharing his pandemic experience, Rajnish shares that resorting to online mode comes with its own merits and demerits. He feels that it was difficult for below-average students to cope during online sessions. Rajnish says that through in-person teaching, it becomes easy for a teacher to know if students have understood a concept or not. Rajnish claims he and his team members were the first to start live sessions in Udaipur, and he also got introduced to YouTube videos he was initially unaware of. On the personal front, Rajnish learned how to cook during the pandemic.

Rajnish feels that education is a basic requirement, but when it comes to the job sector, experience matters the most.

Talking about the scope of chemistry, Rajnish shares that apart from teaching, one can go into the research, pharmaceuticals, laboratory, and forensic science fields. He says that out of all branches of chemistry, organic serves them all with immense opportunities.

Rajnish draws inspiration from Dr. Kishore Sharma, his teacher, who has been a constant support when Rajnish felt like giving up, and he has also inculcated his teaching methods. Rajnish also considers his mother his role model and has learned from her struggles.

If Rajnish could go back in time, he would like to pursue research, complete his PhD, and contribute to society through his valuable work. Sharing the importance of chemistry, Rajnish shares that we start our day with toothpaste, which has chemicals in it. This way, chemistry is involved in our day-to-day lives.

After completing his sessions, Rajnish makes sure to give special attention to students who did not perform well and teach them separately.

In his leisure time, Rajnish likes to travel to rejuvenate himself and come back with double the energy. He wishes to have a world tour and has learned a lot through traveling, from food to work culture to nature.

‘Time is the old thread of life’ is the success mantra that Rajnish believes in and that has been given to him by his grandfather. His favorite singer is Jagjit Singh, and his favorite movie is The Waiting Room.
