Rajesh Brijbhushan Shukla was born in Varanasi. His upbringing took place in Mumbai, where he resided for approximately thirty to thirty-five years. Currently, for the past one year, he has been working as the General Manager at the Sales and Marketing department at Paras Hospital, Udaipur.
Rajesh completed his schooling in his village and then relocated to Mumbai. Afterward, he lived in Ulhasnagar with his uncle for a year. Later, he moved to Bhandup, where he continued his education at Guru Nanak English High School. He completed his 10th grade there. His father owned a milk shop, which provided their sustenance. He then pursued a B.Sc degree from Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College. After completing his B.Sc, he searched for a job extensively due to the unfavorable financial conditions at home.
After a few months, Rajesh found work as a sales representative at Nagesh Homeo Pharmacy. He worked there for three to four months before getting selected by a pharmaceutical company in Indore. Rajesh went to Indore for training, and after completing it, he felt as if he was a doctor. Subsequently, he was assigned to a posting in South Mumbai.
Rajesh says that he then joined Themis Pharmaceuticals, an anti-tuberculosis company, as an Area Manager. He worked there for three and a half years before becoming a Regional Manager at a company that manufactured electrolytes. He climbed the ladder to become a Divisional Manager and then a Business Manager. His confidence grew, and with his knowledge of medicines, people started to perceive him as a doctor.
Rajesh then joined another company as a Zonal Manager. Following that, he worked at Fortis Hospital in Mumbai as an Assistant Manager for six years where he was promoted to Head of Sales and Marketing after one year.
Rajesh says that after the death of his mother and father, he joined Gleneagles Global Hospital in Bangalore as Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing, where he worked for two years. He returned to Mumbai for a brief period of five to six months before coming to Udaipur to work at Paras Hospital.
Regarding Paras Hospital at Udaipur, Rajesh describes it as a two-hundred bed facility with six operation theaters and a catheterization lab. The hospital employs interventional cardiologists, interventional neurologists, and has all the necessary amenities under one roof.
Rajesh states that he remains very positive in his life. He mentions that he spent two to three months at the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, where he learned the art of maintaining introspective silence. He feels motivated when he sees Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, and considers Amitabh Bachchan as his role model because even at his age, Amitabh Bachchan is healthy, hardworking, and disciplined.
Rajesh believes that both education and experience are crucial. He also talks about talent and attitude and advises that one must remain compassionate.
According to Rajesh, his greatest achievement is that no matter what position he reached, he always remained compassionate and brought happiness to people's lives.
Reminiscing about his childhood, Rajesh mentions that he was mischievous, and his father used to scold him. Once, he bunked college to watch the movie ‘Sangam,’ which was his first-ever movie experience, and he still remembers it.
Rajesh says that if he was given a time machine to go back in time, he would like to become a good communicator and a good journalist.
Rajesh shares that his hobbies include having fun and joking around while working. Apart from that, he goes to the gym, practices yoga, watches movies, meets people, observes interviews, and reads books.
Rajesh says that whatever you do, do your best. Otherwise, don't do it. He believes that one should be disciplined, ready to learn, and also unlearn. He advises against keeping work pending.
