Rajendra Gour is a teacher, poet, and State Vice President at Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad. He has been writing poems for the past twenty years and performing on stages for the past fifteen years. He has also published a book, ‘Chup Nahi Baithunga’ and another one is in process.
Rajendra was born and brought up in Dhulet. His childhood was spent in his village, where he was raised with ideals, values, and traditions. His primary education took place in Dhulet itself. His senior secondary education took place in Khanpur, Jhalawar, and he attended college in Jhalwar. Then he did BSTC from Kota. While in Kota, he developed an inclination towards poetry.
Rajendra says that he started going to different Kavya Ghosthis and started writing more poems. He also started writing short stories at the same time. He feels that 2001–2002 was a period when the seed of poetry writing was sown in him.
Talking about his mistakes, Rajendra says that struggles make people learn many things in life. He feels that the field of poetry requires experience and imagination. He says that all the emotions we have—agony, arrogance, desires, wants, etc.—form a part of the writing process.
Talking about his achievements, Rajendra says that in 1995–96 he became a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He became the Kota Zila Pramukh, Sah-Vibhag Pramukh, Prant Upadhyaksh, and Prant Koshadhyaksh in Chittorgarh, and Pradesh Upadhyaksh in the ABVP, and served for twenty-three years.
Rajendra says that books are like harbingers of light, providing light in times of darkness. He feels that books are the only thing that can help in these tough times.
Rajendra says that a career does not mean just doing a job or earning money. We should not be depressed if we fail to get a job. He feels that there is no shortage of jobs in our country, and we should not feel that any job is less or more in any way. Rajendra further advises the youth to innovate in life.
