Rajendra Agarwal, a man whose journey transcends the ordinary, believes that life truly belongs to those who live on through their impact even after death. From a lecturer to a thriving entrepreneur, his story is a testament to the pursuit of passion and the desire to make a lasting difference.`

Rajendra Agarwal is a passionate swimmer who has been teaching swimming for free for the past thirty years. More than 100 students come to learn swimming from him every summer.

Rajendra was born in Fathenagar, near Udaipur, and received his school education from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Udaipur. He then completed his graduation in commerce from B.N. College and his master degree from M.B. Commerce College.

After completing his education, Rajendra joined Govt. Meera Girls College as a lecturer and worked in various other government colleges in Dungarpur and Banswara. He also taught at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth's Shramjeevi College and gave lectures as a visiting Management Faculty Member at Mohanlal Sukhadia University.

However, Rajendra's path diverged as he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing himself as a well-known figure in the marble business. Despite the demands of his dual roles as an entrepreneur and educator, Rajendra held onto his passion for swimming.

His commitment to swimming deepened when he recognized the accessibility challenges faced by common people seeking affordable training. In response, Rajendra initiated free swimming lessons at Fatehsagar Lake, a tradition he has upheld for the past thirty years, impacting the lives of over 100 students each summer.

Rajendra loved swimming, but his parents didn't allow it. So, he asked a friend to teach him swimming secretly. He stored his swim gear at his friend's house and practised whenever he could. Despite his family's objections, Rajendra's determination and passion for swimming kept him going. He spent hours getting better, driven by his dream of becoming a great swimmer.

Witnessing swimmers save lives at the lake inspired Rajendra to dedicate himself to this noble cause. He not only aimed to become a proficient swimmer but also sought to use his skills to assist others. Rajendra started volunteering at local swimming events and joined a lifeguard training program to improve his abilities and knowledge of water rescue techniques.

"Everyone lives to exist, but life belongs only to those who live after death." He was inspired by this quote and thought that even if just one person would remember him after his death, he would have truly made a lasting impact on someone's life. With this in mind, Rajendra dedicated himself to teaching swimming to underprivileged children, hoping to empower them with a life-saving skill and create a legacy that would live on even after he was gone.

Speaking about his challenges, Rajendra says that many of the government authorities and organizations oppose his mission and do not support him. But despite the obstacles, he remains determined to continue his mission and make a difference in the lives of these children. He believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim, and he makes sure of their safety too. There are a number of his students who have participated in various state and national-level swimming competitions.

Rajendra proudly states that he teaches people of all ages to swim, from three-year-olds to seventy-year-olds. Even the well-known TV news anchor Rubika Liyaquat from Udaipur wanted to swim with him after hearing about his popularity among students. Rajendra felt honored by the request from the renowned news anchor.

Encouraging the young, Rajendra says that in every field they will face struggles, but if they would put in honest efforts and stay dedicated to their goals, they could overcome any obstacle and would not face defeat in their journey towards success.

In the field of swimming, Rajendra opines that there is a huge scope and potential for growth. It not only provides physical fitness but also teaches discipline, perseverance, and mental strength. He believes that the sport has the potential to inspire and motivate young people to pursue their dreams and achieve greatness.
