Rajeev Surana is a Director at Dr. Anushka Vidhi Mahavidyalaya and the Secretary of the Anushka Group, Udaipur. He says it is an educational society, established in the memory of Dr. Anushka Surana, with a view to train more and more legal professionals. The group also runs UPSC and competitive exam coaching institutes in the city. He does social work too by giving free education to needy children and helps widowed women get their rights.
Rajeev belongs to Thamla village in Mavli, Udaipur. Taking his primary education from Bikaner, he moved to Mumbai to pursue further studies. As soon as he finished his studies, he took his first job at Arihant Tiles and Marbles Pvt Ltd, Udaipur as an Internal Auditor. After a couple of years, he grabbed the opportunity to go to the UAE and worked there for eight years in MNCs. In 2010, he made a huge decision to come back to India and join his father at Anushka Law College in Udaipur. Gradually, he took this business uphill and opened its multiple branches.
Rajeev considers his parents as his role models because he has learned every aspect of his professional and personal life from them and has been able to move ahead in life so far.
About his struggles, Rajeev says that back then there were no amenities and resources available in small villages yet in deprivations, he managed to get a good education.
Talking about his achievements, Rajeev says that when he was made the Head of his company for the entire UAE division within six months of his service as an Accountant, it was a big achievement for him. Later he accomplished more achievements by managing their operations in other countries as well.
Talking about the Covid pandemic, Rajeev says that when everyone in the world was troubled by this epidemic, this disease came to his house too. His parents were badly affected by it and were hospitalized. Being traumatized by it, he thought of doing something for the victims. So he distributed home-cooked food to the home-isolated patients free of cost for about one-and-a-half months. Besides this, he organized a huge blood donation camp and donated hundreds of units to the hospitals for Covid patients.
Rajeev believes that both Education and Experience are equally important, because in the absence of any one of the two, the other remains incomplete. Yet, in his opinion, it is necessary to get a minimum basic education in order to run life in the right direction.
Advising today’s generation, Rajeev tells them to work wholeheartedly in whatever field they are interested in. He says that get involved in just one thing with persistence instead of changing your fields frequently. Hence, he suggests them to work constantly in one direction and give some time, because success does not come overnight.
When asked about Leadership, Rajeev considers himself a born leader as he has developed these skills seeing his father and later on his seniors. By adopting the qualities of all, he thinks of himself as a successful leader. He believes in taking everyone along and that is what he thinks makes him a good leader.
In his spare time, Rajeev enjoys spending time with his friends and family. In addition, he likes playing carrom and cards and going on outings.
If Rajeev gets a chance to travel back in time in a Time Machine, he would like to live his hostel life again.
