To convert his passion for music into his profession, Rajat quit his Bank Manager job and ventured into the field of music. Proving his worth, he has worked with many legendary artists in the Bollywood industry and made his name proud.

Rajat Yagnik is a Music Composer and Producer. He is a full-time musician and has been trying to enter Bollywood for the last eighteen years. He has worked with several big celebrities. He is popularly known by his stage name, ‘R Maharaj.’

Rajat belongs to Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He did all his schooling, B.Com Honors and MBA from there. In the field of Music, he did his Sangeet Visharad (Bachelor of Music) from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

Recalling his childhood, Rajat says that he has been learning music since childhood and has been doing live shows since the 6th grade.

Talking about his role models, Rajat says he considers A.R. Rahman as his role model because of his music composition that connects directly to the soul.

Describing his struggles, Rajat says that because no one ever had a musical background in his family, he faced a lot of struggles to move ahead in this field. Besides, to earn his livelihood, he also worked as a Manager in a Bank for six years, but later he chose his passion to make a career in.

Regarding his achievements, Rajat says that he has worked with popular celebrities in the Bollywood industry, which is no less than an achievement for him.

In his spare time, Rajat likes to engage with music by listening to it. He also likes to plan his future events and practice.

Sharing his COVID experience, Rajat says that although COVID had created havoc in all businesses, the art industry was terribly impacted. He says that an artist makes money by performing in crowds, but at that time leaving the house was banned, so he had no means of earning. To keep himself strong, he spent a good time with his family at home and used to practice his music.

According to Rajat, education has its own importance and experience also matters in every field. He believes that today’s world is technology driven, so it is very important to be educated enough to cope with the competition prevailing in the market. However, beyond that, experience can take you a long way.

Advising aspiring artists, Rajat says that whatever art you may be learning, always respect your mentors. You will surely succeed if you follow the path shown by your gurus and follow their guidance, he says.
