Rajat Jain is a dietician and nutritionist working with different government organisations. He feels that everyone should follow the rule of 100 percent workout and 100 percent diet management.

Rajat Jain is a dietician and founder of ‘Health Wealth Fitness Center’, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was born in the small town of Hindoli in Bundi District. He did his schooling in Bundi.

Rajat is a dietician, sports and clinical nutrition specialist, and certified diabetes and wellness educator. He holds dual Master's degrees in Food and Nutrition, as well as in Yoga, and is currently pursuing his doctorate. He has over five years of experience in this field. He has done internships at Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital, Jaipur, and also in cities like Pune and Bangalore.

Rajat says that they provide programs like fat loss, weight and muscle gain, diet plans for issues like PCOD, thyroid, diabetes, body composition analysis, etc. He informs us that after COVID, they have started COVID Recovery Diet Plans as well. They also organize health and nutrition-related seminars to create awareness about this field.

Rajat says that his father was a grain merchant, and from childhood he used to see different grains like sorghum, millets, and wheat and study their nutritional values. It was from there that his interest in nutrition and diet was generated.

Rajat remembers that he started his career with a gym in Jaipur in 2013. There, he gained experience and learned how to talk to clients and counsel them. In the year 2016, he established his first setup in the basement of a building. In 2017, he got a bigger place and came into contact with an IAS officer. He introduced Rajat to new people and opened new opportunities for him.

Rajat is currently working with the Rajasthan Police Academy, the National Police Academy, and the Rajasthan Royals. He is also working with the Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments in relation to COVID diet plans. He has been awarded the ‘Best Dietician’ award five times, and his clinic was adjudged the ‘Best Clinic in North India’ two times.

Facing many challenges, Rajat encountered criticism for choosing B.Sc. and home science, labeled as fields for girls. During his internship at Durlabhji, being the only boy among 30 girls, he faced mockery. Critics dismissed the importance of nutritional guidance. In the early days, Rajat and his brother distributed pamphlets incognito, organizing awareness camps to overcome skepticism.

Talking about COVID, Rajat says that it was a roller-coaster ride for him. He says that his job includes counseling and connecting with people, which was a difficult task in online mode. He started his website and mobile app during the first wave. He started giving online consultations and added new clients online. His father and brother also contracted the disease, and it was a tough time on a personal level as well.

Rajat feels that education and experience are both important. Without proper education, one cannot get the desired salaries and better-paying jobs. With experience, one learns about how to work in the field and learns about customer relations. Rajat advises people to be wary of dieticians who do three-month quick courses and start calling themselves dieticians. He says that it took him five years of study to reach where he is today.

Rajat emphasizes that, akin to a chair with four legs, our life relies on four pillars: diet, workout, stress pattern, and sleep pattern. He adds that a recent addition to this list is another crucial pillar—happiness.

Rajat mentions that if even one pillar out of the above is disturbed, our lives will fall apart and we will not be able to lead a happy life. He urges people to give equal attention to each and every point mentioned above.

Rajat considers his father his idol. He also says that he learns from everyone and has not limited his source of motivation.

Rajat says that young people should not only dream but work on them as well. He starts his day by jotting down all the things he has to do throughout the day. Rajat feels that it gives him discipline and stability.

If given a time machine, Rajat would like to go back to his childhood days, when they used to live in a joint family.
