Be real in whatever you do.
Be real in whatever you do.
Raja Natraj is the owner of Skink Tattoo Lab in Goa.
Raja was brought up in Goa and reminisces his school time memories of art competitions, dancing, sketching, painting, etc. His teachers had been a source of motivation and support for him to pursue arts. Later, after college, he took a break for a year and watched many tattoo-related shows on television. Those American shows inspired him to follow his passion and become a tattoo artist.
Raja says he is a self-learned and self-made tattoo artist and graffiti artist whose humble background, his elder brother’s immense support, and his wife’s trust in him have helped him succeed.
Raja shares that he got motivated by all the art competitions he participated in as a kid and says that those competitions have led him to a career in tattoo art. He considers those competitions and awards he won in them as his achievements. Moreover, he has started a project known as Goa Arts Factory through which he designs the interiors of hotels, clubs, etc. Furthermore, much of his graffiti art can be seen on various street walls in Goa. One of his paintings was also displayed in an event in the presence of the President.
Raja advises artists to be real, and dedicated, and pour their hearts into whatever work they do to achieve success. Moreover, thorough research and reading of their specified artform will help them excel, he says.
Raja’s free time activities include fishing, cycling, mountaineering, swimming, doing art, music, or dancing.
Raja is motivated to work hard with the positive feedback of his clients and to be genuine to himself and others. Therefore his success mantra is in being genuine, grounded, and hard working.
During COVID, Raja enjoyed quality family time.
Raja advises all parents to give their kids the freedom and support to unleash their talents and interest.
