After taking guidance from his father, Raj listened to his calling and became a tattoo artist.

Raj Yadav is a Tattoo Artist at his tattoo studio - Alpha Tattoo.

Originally from Shivpur village in Hoshangabad district of MP, Raj is currently based in Indore. He did his elementary schooling from his village itself, and completed the rest of his schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Boarding School. He pursued his graduation from a nearby district.

Sharing his journey to become a tattoo artist, Raj says that he got inspired by his art teacher at Jawahar Navodaya School and gradually his inspiration in art grew. However, he began doing regular jobs and kept changing them frequently. He then started getting confused and depressed, so he approached his father who motivated him to follow his passion.

Raj then went to Indore to learn tattoo art but had to return shortly after because of some personal issues. However, he says, he had learnt enough to start freelancing, which he did for two years. Later he came to Indore once again and started his own studio, which he shifted to another place after some time and has been working there since then.

Raj considers his father as his role model, who guided him to follow his passion during his struggling and confused times.

Sharing his COVID experience, Raj says he was in his village during the pandemic and thus he got to spend quality time with his friends and family. He also vamped up his tattooing skills, and read books.

When free, Raj likes reading books or listening to audiobooks, bike riding, exploring, swimming, and gaming.

Advising his fellow youth, Raj says that you should do what you like and make it count. He further adds that consistency and patience are also important in life. He advises budding tattoo artists to focus on self-learning and to have patience, as it is a rapidly growing industry and will definitely yield good results in future. Giving a piece of advice to the people who are looking to get tattooed, Raj advises them to choose a design that you will want permanently, ensure hygiene, and also select a tattoo artist who you trust.
