Raj Kumar, founder of The Chef Plaza in Jaipur, is a dedicated chef with 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Hailing from a small village, he overcame numerous challenges to pursue a degree in hotel management and establish his own bakery and restaurant.

Serving in the industry for the past 20 years, Raj Kumar is the founder of The Chef Plaza in Jaipur. The Chef Plaza is a bakery and restaurant serving various types of cuisine.

Talking about the hospitality industry, Raj has gained significant experience in all the different profiles of the industry, be it the kitchen, IT, after-sales service, etc. Then, he decided to start ‘The Chef Plaza', which is a bakery and restaurant serving various types of cuisine under one roof.

Raj Kumar hails from Jaipur, but he was born and brought up in a village in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. He took his education from a government school and college in his village. Later, he relocated to Delhi to pursue a degree in hotel management from the Institute of Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition, Pusa.

Raj Kumar shares that transitioning from a village to life in Delhi was challenging, particularly in improving his communication skills. However, his hostel friends were a great source of support.

The principal of IHM Pusa, Prof. Rajesh Rajpurohit, greatly influenced his career. Rajesh's hard work and guidance were invaluable to him, giving Raj opportunities like working at Haryana Bhawan, where he met the President of India and other dignitaries. Prof. Rajesh also inspired him to start his own business, providing timely advice and practical training for real-life situations.

Sharing his COVID experience, Raj Kumar shares that the hospitality industry is a very demanding profession with not much leaves or time to spend with the family. So this period was like a jackpot to spend some quality time with his family. Secondly, as his father is a farmer, he returned to his village and planted 52 fruit trees of different kinds in his field.

During his free time, Raj Kumar studies IT concepts to enhance his work and personal development. He also provides career counselling and support to students, helping them avoid the struggles he faced early on.
