Believing in yourself and being your own role model are the best things you can do as it’s nearly impossible to find a person who has all the good qualities.

Rahul originally hails from Muzaffarnagar, U.P. and did his schooling there itself. He did his Bachelor of Hotel Management from Sarosh Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore University.
Rahul did his industrial training at Hotel Leela Kempinski, Mumbai. After completing his bachelors he got his first job at a hotel based in New Delhi. He worked there for three years and then he worked at Hotel Leela Kempinski, Mumbai where he did his industrial training too. He worked hard and climbed up the hierarchy at the hotel and rose to the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager. He also played a crucial role in setting up the Hotel Leela in Goa.
In 2009, Rahul switched from the hotel industry to academia. He worked at different institutions in varied capacities. Currently, he is working as the Head of the Training and Placement Cell at Pacific Institute of Hotel Management, Udaipur.
Talking about his achievements, Rahul says that when he was in college, he wanted to organise a food fest and he asked for funds from the college Principal to organise it. But the Principal cited a lack of funds and his inability to sanction any fund. But he encouraged Rahul to take it upon himself and organise it. Rahul did it all by himself. He approached sponsors to collect funds and thus he was able to organise the first-ever food festival of the college as he claims. In his profession, he played an instrumental role in setting up a new hotel in Goa and subsequently he was promoted to the post of Assistant Manager.
Rahul shares that the Covid pandemic created a panic among the public. But on the personal front, he enjoyed this period, as he got to spend time with his family and he also reconnected with his friends whom he had not talked to in a long time.
Rahul considers the people he grew up with as his role models. Besides, he considers himself his role model.
To the youth, Rahul’s piece of advice is, instead of finding a role model be your own role model as it’s impossible to find a person who possesses all the good qualities that you are looking for and whom you can look up to.
