A dancer, Rahul believes that self-motivation is required to attain the desired goals and objectives. He thinks that it is important to have more than one skill to achieve success.

Rahul Raj is a Choreographer, Teacher and Director at Frenzy Dance Studio in Ranchi.

Rahul was born in Bardhaman and brought up in Purulia in West Bengal. He currently resides in Ranchi.

Recalling his childhood, Rahul says that his childhood was not good as he met with many accidents. He got injured very frequently in his childhood. But by the grace of God and the support of his family, he survived and is now living his life happily. He shifted to Ranchi in 2010 and completed his schooling and graduation there. He faced many struggles since childhood, as he belonged to a middle class family and had to sacrifice a lot.

Talking about his journey, Rahul says that he started his journey in the field of dance after completing the tenth grade. He joined dance class in 2013 to utilise his time, and then gradually his interest developed. He learned Bollywood dance under the guidance of his mentor and continued it for two years. Then he decided to start his own dance institute in 2015. He faced many challenges in his journey, like financial problems, convincing the parents, etc. Now, finally, he has a good position in this field.

Rahul shares that he became interested in this field after seeing his family members dance, such as his maternal aunt and uncle. He used to watch the dance show ‘Dance India Dance’, and then after tenth grade, his aunt advised him to join dance class. So he got inspiration for dance from his maternal family members.

At the time of the pandemic, he also drove to earn his livelihood, so he believes that it is important to have multiple talents and to work in multiple fields.

When asked about his mistakes, Rahul says that one can get success only after making mistakes. Every person learns from their mistakes and tries not to repeat them. He says that sometimes he made decisions in a hurry and didn’t get the proper outcomes, which was his mistake. He learned not to make decisions hastily, and that it is important to research both input and output before making any decision.

Sharing his achievements, Rahul says that he gave many auditions in front of renowned judges and got selected for studio rounds. He took courses under Terence Lewis to give the best training to his students, which is his biggest accomplishment.

Rahul’s role model is not a single person, as he always observes people and learns from them. He discussed a lot with others and also took advice from them to learn.

Rahul’s success mantra is to work and run on the right track to compete with others. He believes that it is important to work on and focus on at least two skills.

Advising aspirants to his field, Rahul says to choose dance as a second skill as it is important to have a strong base and other strong options to choose from in life. One should focus on learning two skills to achieve success in life and to earn a proper livelihood in today’s era. He also believes that dance is helpful in improving mental and physical fitness.
