Rahul Pandey is a Management Associate at Satin Creditcare Network Ltd, an NBFC & MFI.
Rahul was born and brought up in Arrah, Bihar. He shifted to Jharkhand to pursue his higher studies. Later, he pursued his MBA in Rural Management at XIMB, Bhubaneswar. Rahul recalls going to his grandmother’s place in Nepal, where he enjoyed the natural beauty with his many friends; he still cherishes those memories.
While studying in Jharkhand, he was associated with the Rotaract Club. There he got to help people and learned leadership too. This drove him towards an MBA in Rural Management followed by a job in the NBFC MFI sector.
Rahul’s journey was not an easy one though. He shares that coming from a middle class family, he had financial limitations. So when he moved out to study further, he used to give tuition to pay his expenses. Problems really increased when his father retired and it became difficult for him to study further. Finally, his sister came to his rescue and helped him complete his MBA.
Talking about his achievements, Rahul says that there are numerous big and small achievements in his life, from teaching his elder sister, to being the President and later Zonal Rotaract Secretary of the Rotaract Club owing to his sincere efforts. Additionally, he also got to become the Sponsorship Head for his college during his graduation. Getting into a reputed college as XIMB and getting a good placement from there is also a big achievement for Rahul.
Rahul considers Mahatma Gandhi as his role model. He is also inspired by Ratan Tata and Steve Jobs because of their far-sighteness and innovative mindset.
During his free time, Rahul likes playing badminton and snooker, and going to the gym. He also likes reading books and going on long rides on his bike. His association with various NGOs and social groups have also generated a feeling of service in him and thus he likes helping people when he is free.
He further shares that during the COVID period, his internship got cancelled and thus he had to work for four firms simultaneously for free just to gain experience. After much delay, companies did come to his campus for placements and he eventually got a job in a company of his choice.
Advising the young generation, Rahul says that you must make a goal and start working on it early on. He also advises them to not get disheartened by small setbacks and keep learning from failures.
