After graduating from the Banasthali University, Seema decided to give back to society and joined the same university as a Professor.

Seema Verma is a Professor of Electronics Engineering at Banasthali University.

Born and raised in Khetri in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, Seema currently resides in Jaipur. She says that she grew up in a joint, progressive family, and thus she was raised with care and was given equality. She did her schooling at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, where she was a meritorious, all-round student. She pursued her B.Sc followed by M.Sc in Electronics at Banasthali University, and completed it with a gold medal. She completed her Doctorate in Electronics Engineering in 2003. At that time, she was one of the youngest female Ph.D holders of Rajasthan at the age of about 27.

After completing her M.Sc in Electronics, Seema joined a research organisation named CEERI-Pilani as an paid intern. She was not much interested in joining the corporate field so she decided to do a Ph.D instead. She got through for M.Tech at NIT Kurukshetra, and also got an opportunity to pursue her Ph.D from IIT Delhi, but she passed that over for a Ph.D from Banasthali. In 2001, she joined Banasthali University and later became a faculty member after completing her Ph.D. She has been working here since then. During her service at Banasthali, she has guided many research scholars, attained several patents, and has written numerous research papers and books.

At Banasthali, Seema initiated a program to induct young girls in the University's Aviation course and give them free of cost flying training. She says that the first woman fighter pilot of India - Avani Chaturvedi is an Alumni of this University, and there are at least 20 other women who are currently serving as First Officers in various airlines.

Describing the mistakes that she has committed in her life, Seema says that while she has never committed a grave one, she trusts people quickly and it has, on several occasions, proved to be a mistake for her. However, she says that she didn't change her gullibility as it is her core quality. She says that while her family believes that she should’ve gone through with IIT Delhi or NIT Kurustahsetra instead of joining Banasthali, she is content with her decision.

Speaking of her achievements in life, Seema says that she has achieved numerous feats as a student and as a part of the Banasthali family. She says that initiating flying courses in the University, receiving awards from various state governments and private organisations, and being a part of various government bodies like NAAC and the DRDO are some of her best achievements. She adds to it by saying that all her endeavours should be credited to her family and her institution, which has firmly supported her throughout her life.

When asked about her role models in life, Seema says that her mother is her role model, who is an efficient manager and a strong woman as well. In her professional life, she has learned a lot from her Vice-Chancellor, who has given her ample opportunities and was instrumental in her success. She also considers her younger brother as her guiding light in testing times.

In her free time, Seema likes travelling, spending time with people, and reading books. She also meditates, spends time with her kids, and listens to music to refresh her mind.
