Priyanka Mehta did her B.E. in Computer Science and later on did her Master in Technology in Computer Science and opted teaching as a profession. She started her career as an Assistant Professor with a few Universities and Colleges and currently she is having ten-and-a-half years of experience in teaching Engineering graduates and P.G. students. Recently, she joined White Hat Jr. as a Coding Teacher, which is a big breakthrough in her life. Initially, she was apprehensive about this job as she had never taught on an online platform before but now she feels content with her job.
Priyanka teaches her students how to apply logical skills to real-life problems and that is where her passion is. From her childhood, she fancied being a Teacher and mimicked them at home. She loves teaching students and plans to continue to do so.
Priyanka was born in Mandsaur in M.P., but she spent her early years in Orissa as her father was in a Textile job there, and later on they moved to Bhilwara, which is a Textile hub. She was brought up and raised in Bhilwara and her father joined as a Dying Superintendent at BSL Suitings Pvt. Ltd. where he worked for twenty-five plus years. They lived in a township of the company only.
Priyanka feels nostalgic about her childhood memories where she used to have a huge gang of friends who played many outdoor games and never watched TV or played video games like today’s kids who are engaged in mobile phones, video games and other indoor activities.
Priyanka says she used to be an introvert and a shy girl in her school time. She completed her schooling from Sophia Girls School, Bhilwara and started to open up when she joined co-education in eleventh and twelfth standard. She went out of town to Laxmangarh for her M.tech from Mody University and decided to change her personality.
Priyanka faced some challenges when she took her first job in Mehsana because people there were not comfortable with any language other than Gujarati and Priyanka took it as a challenge by trying to learn the local language. She worked for a few months until she got a job opportunity in her hometown and moved there. Later, she got married to her childhood friend in Bhilwara who has a set-up of manufacturing units of products related to mothers and babies.
During the covid pandemic, Priyanka started recording her songs and tried to share her singing notes with her friends and family and got a lot of appreciation from them. She was passionate about singing since her childhood but could not pursue it.
Talking about accomplishments, Priyanka keeps her family at the top most priority and having them is her biggest accomplishment. Her father has never stopped her from doing anything and was given full flexibility to explore life. She feels blessed to have a great family after marriage also and she gets full support of her in-laws.
Priyanka advises the young teachers to try to be open and be humorous with the students. You should try to create a bond and have a quick warm-up session with them to go a long way ahead. As a teacher, keep your knowledge updated and make the students also updated to cope-up with the world. She likes to stay connected with students via social-media platforms even after completion of their studies.
Priyanka looks up to her father as he is a risk-taking person and lives a stress-free life. She learnt from her mother to patiently handle things. Her elder sister is very proactive and communicative so Priyanka tried to open up seeing her sister. Priyanka also considers her in-laws to be her role models for being disciplined, systematic and organized. Her husband inspires her to look for innovations in simple things and she learns to be curious and inquisitive about things from her son.
