Driven by her creativity and passion, Priyanka chose to make her career in the salon industry while learning digital marketing as a side hustle to work on her skills.

Priyanka Khatik is a staff member at Flying Scissors Salon in Udaipur. She has been working here for the last two years.

Recalling her childhood, Priyanka shares that she always had a keen interest in the modeling field. She did her schooling at Guru Nanak Public School, followed by her graduation from Mohanlal Sukhadia University.

Talking about her challenges, Priyanka says that her family was never in support of her joining the salon industry, but she proved her creativity and talent with constant hard work and learning.

Sharing her pandemic experience, Priyanka says that though salons were shut down due to the lockdown, she was able to earn money by providing door step services to her clients. Priyanka also utilized COVID days to learn digital marketing skills, which she feels happy about. However, on the personal front, she expresses sorrow for having lost many of her family members during the pandemic.

When asked about her role models, Priyanka says that she draws inspiration from her mother and one of her professional mentors in the salon industry.

Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Priyanka says she considers experience more worthwhile as compared to education. "You can only learn valuable life lessons through experience," Priyanka says.

If Priyanka could go back in time through a time machine, she would relive her childhood days.

Besides going to the salon, Priyanka is currently pursuing a course in digital marketing. She spends her free time with her friends and family.
