Priyanka Dwivedi is an Interior Designer. She recently started her own firm named ‘ORA Innovative Solutions’ in Udaipur. In addition to this, she is a product designer at Asian Prelam Industries Private Limited. She also designs laminates, and has named her first range 'Vogue'. Apart from that, she is a kitchen and wardrobe specialist. During her time in Gurgaon five years ago, she successfully handled important projects for renowned personalities like Amit Shah and Dharmendra Pradhan, along with various other political figures. She is also a mother of two girls and currently lives with her family in Udaipur.
Priyanka explains that ORA is a company specializing in creative solutions. They currently offer innovative solutions in four categories: prefinished veneers, acry-mica, louvers, and imported adhesive glue. Her primary reason for launching this venture in Udaipur is that larger cities have numerous choices and aware customers. However, smaller cities lack well-established professional outlets where products are explained rather than just sold. Her main aim is to raise awareness, comprehend needs, and assist people in making informed purchases, even if the product isn't available in her store.
Priyanka also believes in going beyond just selling products. She's eager to assist young individuals, as well as friends and family, in understanding the interior design field and its products. Her aim is not just financial gain, but she is driven by a sense of responsibility to share knowledge. She'll only support things she believes are good, not just for product promotion, but to reflect her own values. She's focused on building her own identity in Udaipur before her brand's identity.
A Kutchi Gujarati, Priyanka was born and raised in Mumbai. In the 9th grade, she was clear about her passion for interior designing. She pursued a Diploma in Interior Designing from St. Francis Institute of Art & Design (SFIAD), Mumbai and later also did a Master Diploma, starting work soon after. She gained experience with the renowned architect, Rajesh Balsara , as well as M&M Architects like Premnath and Architect Associates. She was also part of Asian Paints' designing team fifteen years ago, says Priyanka.
Interested in detailed segments like wardrobes and kitchens, she began her journey with ‘Sleek’ modular kitchens in Mumbai as a designer. Over five years, she transitioned from designer to project manager within the same company. Later, she did her own consultancy work for political VIPs in Gurgaon before moving to Bangalore. Following that, she shifted to Udaipur after the Covid period. Her journey has been full of learning, with twists and turns.
Reminiscing about her childhood in Mumbai, where she grew up in a joint family, Priyanka says that those days were filled with joyful memories. She is grateful that her parents encouraged both her and her younger brother to take up swimming, sports, and dance, despite financial constraints. She reflects on a beautiful life lived with limited resources. Priyanka also traveled extensively and attended St. Mary's School in Mumbai, one of the best schools there. She has a lot of happy memories from there.
When asked about her role models, Priyanka mentions that she has admired several individuals in her life. Her mother, a homemaker, has influenced her greatly. She also respects many of her school teachers. After getting married, Priyanka looked up to Priyanka Chopra for her courageous choices. Additionally, her husband, who is also in the same field, is her biggest role model. He has consistently supported her.
Priyanka says that she is inspired by the word 'visible'. She believes that being noticed in a positive manner is crucial. Otherwise, whether with family, friends, or at work, you might be overlooked. And when you have a chance to be noticed, it's essential to also appear presentable.
Priyanka's key to success is focusing on the details. She believes that paying attention to even the smallest things will help you shine.
Discussing her accomplishments, Priyanka mentions that she has achieved many awards and certificates. But what matters most to her is winning people's hearts. She says that she is good at dancing and loves doing garba and dandiya. She knows karate and has gained recognition from architects and other fields in her professional journey. However, her proudest accomplishment is earning people's respect and affection. In Udaipur, her aim is to build connections and establish trust.
Her advice to young dreamers is to focus on learning deeply, without rushing. She believes that success is achieved through steady steps, and each step should be taken with thorough understanding. She encourages them not to hesitate in asking questions and seeking answers. She recommends avoiding overconfidence, even after mastering something, keeping in mind technology's swift advancements. She emphasizes being receptive and attentive, highlighting the value of listening before responding.
Priyanka believes that valuing your surroundings and your country is significant. Success doesn't always require going abroad; it can be achieved within India too.
