Born and brought up in Udaipur, Priya has carved her way into the lives of many school-going children who cannot afford a bag through her NGO Bags of Smiles with her sheer determination.

Priya was always a smart kid but her financial condition was never very good. Her father was an alcoholic and couldn’t support their family well. She started working at the age of 16 and since then she has done a lot of different jobs. She has been a security guard, peon and also used to run a tea stall.

Priya says she has faced a lot of challenges in life but she never gave up. She almost decided to end it once but then she wanted her parents to live the life they always wanted and for that, she knew she would have to work hard. After facing a lot of hardships and taking loans from the market she finally started her own organization by the name Bags of Smiles. Her main aim is to convert unusable jeans into bags for the needy and so far she has been really successful and has also got praised for her work in the media.

She says that her childhood was not very academically good due to her financial conditions. If Priya could have studied, she would have done what she wanted many years back. Her NGO is providing employment to 30 ladies from the rural area and also teaches 100 plus students. She also provides funding for the education of the students who are talented and need recognition for their talent.

Priya says her success mantra is - always deliver on time. She says that her company has so many tie-ups just because they are always on time and deliver what is needed. She has faced numerous struggles for 9 years to be where she is today and she is very proud of it.

Priya says it is very important to give your family time to keep the bonding strong and for that, she takes every Sunday as an opportunity to spend time with her family. She also loves traveling and going on solo trips every 3-4 months.

Her role model and her inspiration is her mother. She has always inspired her in life.

If Priya can travel back in time, she would want to become a photographer.
