Whatever work you take up, you must complete it with all your heart.
Priti Raj is a law professional and has been working in this field since 2014. She is practicing law in the district court of Vaishali, Bihar.
Remembering her childhood, Priti says she was born and brought up in Hajipur. Her father was a small businessman. When she was young, she mostly spent her time assisting her father in his business. She got her confidence from that experience.
Priti completed all her education in Hajipur itself. After completing her graduation in science, she wanted to do an MBA, but for some reason she couldn’t pursue it. Then, on the suggestion of her husband, she received an LLB degree and started practicing law.
Sharing about her journey in the field of law, Priti says she was from Hajipur but was pursuing her law graduation from Muzaffarpur. For her, it was very challenging to go to Muzaffarpur everyday and attend the classes. But somehow she managed to complete her education.
After completing her law education, she got the support of her seniors and started practicing law in a district court in Patna. After her marriage and after having a baby, she took a break. She again started practicing law with her husband and established her name in the field successfully.
The major challenge Priti faced was the stereotyped thinking of society about female law practitioners. She says people and other fellow male law practitioners do not value and trust female law practitioners. But now, because of her experience and knowledge, she has won the trust of her clients and senior officials.
When asked about her role models, Priti says she considers her parents as her role models. She says her parents are very hardworking individuals and instilled the same traits in her.
Priti's success mantra is to put your best effort into anything you do. She adheres to the philosophy that no matter what task is selected, it must be completed with all one's heart.
When Priti is not busy, she enjoys spending her free time traveling to different places. She also likes listening to music.
Priti advises young lawyers to prioritize their studies first and pay close attention in class, so they can comprehend the laws. However, she says the law, the practice, and the court are their true teachers for success in the field. Only through practice will they be able to improve their abilities. She also advises them that doing many things in law practice would be an injustice to the profession. So, in order to win the trust of your clients, focus on your legal practice and thoroughly prepare your arguments. She claims that in order to maintain work-life balance, it would be better for them to plan their days and effectively manage their time.
